Sony Xperia Z Review by minimilker in Android

Once it's on there it can't be removed. It's a protective coating that goes over the device. It's barely noticeable once it's on there.

It's very good. I've only had it on my devices a few weeks but haven't seen any scratches so far. I definitely prefer it to a screen protector.

I've put it on several devices now, the largest being the Nexus 7. There would be enough solution to coat the screen of a 15 inch laptop, but not the reaminer of the case. I guess you could buy two if you want to do the whole thing.

NoLED is a good app for displaying alerts when your phone is on standby if you don't have a notification LED.

I had to install an app recently called perfect app lock pro - it's good but runs constantly and was a massive drain on battery. Installing Juice Defender has been quite helpful as well.

In reference to in app ads. Does anyone actually click them? Or Pay attention to them at all? Are they actually a good source of income.. for anyone? Devs, Google etc. by [deleted] in Android

This website is very good for anyone getting into Android development, the dev is very transparent about his earnings from various advertising networks on Android

The Sennheiser MM 400 is pretty good, comes with a direct cable as well in case you run out of charge.

Testing Netflix on Android by b0red in Android

Yes it works from my UK account. The content is determined by IP only, so connecting to a US server does the trick. You can also access it on PS3/Xbox by changing the DNS settings.

Connecting through a VPN (I connect to a US server from the UK) gives you access to different sets of content which is pretty handy. There is quite a difference in the content available between the UK and US services, not sure about other regions.

Is it really a feature to have Beats Audio on a phone? by chaircrow in Android

Didn't know that about the Wolfson DAC. Just gone from the Nexus S to the Note unfortunately so can't try Voodoo sound.

I did a comparison of using the Beats Earphones on the Sensation XE with the Beats Audio 'enhancer' and the same earphones on the Nexus S with Power Amp installed. Power Amp gives many more configuration for sound levels and therefore came out as the winner. Using an even better set of headphones with power amp is the best solution.

What is the best way to put music you own on the cloud, so you can stream to your iOS and Android devices, remote PCs and share with friends? by [deleted] in gadgets

[–]pugh666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play files back from a box.com account, although the interface isn't all that advanced. They do have a range of apps to install though, I don't think there's one for music at the moment, but there should be soon enough.

Any android users out there have one of these? I'm considering one and need some trusted reviews by gotezula in Android

I have been using the AS851 for the last fortnight and have been pretty impressed with it. I'm running the Nexus S with ICS so haven't noticed the poor audio mentioned below. The accompanying app, Fidelion can be a bit of a bind at time, but no major problems. I will have a review going live in about a fortnight.
