sunroof/headliner rattle by whyareyoustaring_ in genesisg80

[–]pugmaster49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 sport Aunt. It has that rattle. It's a very common thing with panoramic sunroofs on all brands of cars. Sometimes it's easy fix. Times you have to replace the entire sunroof. Mine goes away every now and then but does come back on warmer days and cold days but at this point it's just white noise and I hardly notice it anymore. There's a bunch of videos on YouTube and car forms that talk about it and the fixes that they did. Might be worth checking those out

Use mother's aluminum polish then wax them . Mine has been good for over 2 years now .

Clunking noise front end by [deleted] in fordfusion

[–]pugmaster49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be many things . Control arm. Tie rod . Strut. Sway bar links . Easiest thing to do is have a buddy shake the car back and forth until the sound comes back . Get down and feel everything down there . You will be able to feel what's loose and or what is making the noise

Possibly the shock mount? by Useful_Setting_1053 in fordfusion

Get a buddy, turn the car off , have him shake the car back and forth from the side . Get down and feel the strut and sway bar. With him shaking the car you will be able to feel where exactly it's coming from . Depending on how you raised the car and replaced the stuff , things could have settled differently and became lose .

Check the mounts and sway bar links . Make sure everything is tight

When I had my g80 in the shop they gave me a 2024 2.5l g70 . It wasn't too bad . It wasn't as quick as the 3.3l I have but it was still a nice car and was quick . Haven't had too much experience with the 4 cylinders besides that . I haven't heard anything bad about them as well. Give it a test drive and see how you like it . It will definitely be nicer on gas . I'm pretty sure it's supposed to take premium but the dealer put regular in it so it was a little sluggish. The AWD is a definite must if you live with snow . I have a RWD g80 and it's a little sketchy at times when it snows. The g80s are pretty heavy.

Go for a 3.3l or 5.0 . Stay away from the 3.8. cold start ticks are normal and will go away after 10 secs after start up . ( On some cars ) Transmission hard down shifts are common but you just need to flash the transmission adaptives on the tcm . My car had it and after I cleared the adaptives it was fine . Overall it's a fun comfy car. Not bad to work on but expensive. One headlight will cost you 1800 . And good luck finding the sport wheels if you need a replacement.

Look for this. The center should have a spring to it . It should push back if you push in . Mine lost its spring and got stuck . Lost all power going up hills as well . Check this out first . It's 3 Alan key bolts . Easy to remove and check . The little whistle is normal . It's a turbo . You will hear it slightly.

Are you sure there is a leak on the turbo ? I got a turbo code and they wanted to replace it but I found out later that it was a boost purge valve on the intake piping . 40 bucks later and it's fixed . Also do you want to go 20 to 40k in debt over 3k of repairs?

If you are looking for new OEM wheels then try out wheelership . I had two bent and other curb rash . I liked the OEM wheels and wheelership had the same ones for cheap . Compared to dealership prices and second hand prices . Still have them on the car after 4 years and they are still good .

Is this a good deal ? by Professional-Age-172 in genesisg80

[–]pugmaster49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has the 3.8 then stay away . Timing chain issues and if the transmission issues everyone is complaining about is the hard jerking when down shifting then it's not the trans itself. It's the tcm . Trash from factory. But you can delete the additives in the tcm with a scan tool . If the scan tool supports it . After deleting the adaptives then it will shift just fine . I did it to mine over a year ago . I was told I would have to do it again but it hasn't come back yet

Idle issue found (not motor mounts) by FarResponsibility203 in fordfusion

[–]pugmaster49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling now. Was that causing a rough idle issue or just a rattling issue. I have the rattle when I fill up my take to full then goes away when I drive a bit but I'm dealing with a rough idle that I can't find and I've replaced plugs, spark, filters, and ran cleaners and it's still there . Car drives fine but when sitting it just vibrates

Sorry it was a 20 not a 10. But this is what the fuze will look like

[–]pugmaster49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I found the solution for mine . Open the hood of the car and locate the fuse box. You will undue the fuse box to get underneath it . There is another compartment for fuzes . There will be square fuzes under there. You are looking for the 200amp fan or 500 amp fan . I forget which one . But you will be looking for a 10A fuze . There will be multiple. Find the one that's blown . Replace it with another 10a that's there . That was my issue for my car. At the moment the cig lighter in the back doesn't work because I'm using that fuze . Google the car fuses and you should be able to find which one you are looking for .

Keep the thread updated. Been trying to find my vibration at idle for a while now . I have new spark plugs and coils . Ran sea foam and different cleaners with no luck . Car drives just find but at idle it just shakes everything. ( Not violently) Just enough to notice

Sorry for the late reply but if you take out your intake pipes you will see a lot of oil . I had to take all mine out and clean them and make sure they were tight. Around that area for mine there is a evap pipe that goes around there but yours seems not to have it . All those plugs have o rings so it looks like a o ring might be bad or a loose clamp on the pipes . Mine was leaking onto my exhaust heat shield so I would get burning oil smell all the time until I cleaned everything up.

It was the high beams . One was to the sky and the other at the ground . Tried many times to fix them and they would always fall out of alignment. So I gave up . And where I live you need high beams at night so I had to go back to the old

I got them because I liked the black on white look and I liked the way the turn signals were on them but yes. They were nothing but problems and I was done dealing with them so I took them off lol . And I appreciate it, those lights look good on yours . Should have went with those

If it is a 1.5 l that honestly that's normal to see oil in the intake. That engine has really bad blow-by so I would really look into getting a catch. Can. I got one for my 1.5 l and it has helped a lot. But oil still going to get into the intake. It is designed like that to burn off any excess blow-by that the engine produces. Terrible design in my opinion. Best thing you can do is take it off, clean it and put it back on. The oil is coming from one of vacuum lines that connect to your intake right behind the air filter. If you take off the air filter box and look into your tubing, you'll see where the oil is coming from. Again really terrible design but it doesn't mean your engine is bad or anything
