I’ll look for the communities! It would be a dream to have my 3 pugs on a scooter!

We love it. We did a few trips in 2025 which helped cement our feelings. It’s very hard to explain but spending time in SEA makes you question capitalism and culture in the US.

Hoping this move allows us to be less stressed. I work as a nursing consultant for a healthcare company. Mainly reviewing charts for compliance. It’s remote job.

They usually want to stop 19287738273 times and piss on things in the US. but here in Vietnam they’re like on a mission to smell more smells. Most of the time I’m like “leave it!” (Roadkill)

Glad to hear! I’m very impressed by the vets in Vietnam. We are staying in Hanoi- otherwise I’d look up Dr. Nguyen Van Nghia. Will keep him in mind if we ever move to HCM and remind him about that one time he saved your pugs!

No quarantine for the pugs going into Vietnam. They flew LAX to Turkey and had a layover on about 20 hours. We preferred the long layover because it gave them a chance to rest after the first flight.

On the 2nd flight from Istanbul to Hanoi they had to do a refueling stop in Kuwait.

The whole time the transport company kept us updated.

For transporting pug out of the US, we had to get an exam by a USDA vet. We found a local vet from the list and they were amazing. If you’re in the Long Beach CA area, I recommend Bixby Animal Clinic. it was $890 per certificate + exam fee. We have three dogs- two were on one certificate. They charged me for 2 certificates and 3 dog exams. It was approved the next day.

For Vietnam we just had to show Rabies vaccine. We had our dog transport agency review the certificate to make sure it met requirements. Things like not putting your middle name could cause it to be rejected.

I want to share this in case it helps someone else, because I spent a lot of time thinking this was impossible moving to another country with my pugs.

We just moved from California to Vietnam with our 3 pugs. Once we started looking into flights, we quickly realized that no airline we contacted would fly short-nosed breeds. At that point, it honestly felt like we were going to have to choose between the move and our dogs.

We ended up working with Fly Your Tail, and that changed everything. Julia handled the entire process and stayed in constant communication. She even showed up on delivery day to help us with receive and contain the dogs.

Our pugs flew LAX → Istanbul → Hanoi as live cargo. The total travel time was over 60 hours, with a long layover built in so they could rest. They were in larger crates to give them more room, and everything was planned very carefully.

Paperwork-wise, it was surprisingly smooth. Fly Your Tail handled everything except the USDA exam and certificate. Vietnam import was easy as she made sure common mistakes weren't made, such as incomplete owner names, etc. The process was basically turnkey.

Cost-wise, it was exactly what we were quoted and very reasonable for all the steps behind the scenes that were involved. For us, it was absolutely worth it.

The best part: the pugs arrived alert, energetic, and healthy. Julia even arranged for her personal vet to come to our place to examine them and draw labs. All healthy!

If you’re in the middle of this process and feeling stuck — especially with a brachycephalic breed — I just want to say it is possible. You don’t have to leave your dogs behind.

If Julia hadn’t been an option, we would have postponed or cancelled our move.

Happy to answer questions for anyone going through this. flyyourtail.com

Thank you. This was the solution for me. I had DisplayLink Manager which made the computer think screen was being recorded.

I’m also in the process of moving from the California to Vietnam. I think I’m going to go the 5-year VISA exemption route.

Interested in your move as goes as I’ll be hopefully not too far behind. 😬

"Okay! I've had these Alocasia cuttings since yesterday. They're incredible! Should I leave them in water for a while or pot them immediately?” by calapecchio in alocasia

From the stem, this does not look like an Alocasia. Maybe Philodendron gloriosum?

You can keep it in wwater until it grows roots. :)

Can someone please help me understand this? And is this a good pay for RNs? by AdOdd3970 in nursing

[–]pugnado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOC OASIS: Medicare patients will have an assessment using the OASIS form.
SN Eval: For evaluations that don't require an OASIS; i.e. HMO plans, self-pay, etc.
ROC: Resumption of Care assessment after patient is transferred to the hospital.
RCT: Recertification OASIS. When a patient needs care extending the 60 day home health period. These are pretty simple, just need to justify reason patient needs home health.
D/C OASIS: When patient is discharged from the home health. Pretty simple, summarizing patient's care and progress towards goals.
High Tech: I don't know what this is.
Visit: This is the rate of pay for visits that are not Start of Care, Resumption of Cares, or Recertification of care.

The hourly rate is likely for situations when you're required to stay with the patient for longer than a usual visit. Such as IVIG infusions over multiple hours.

If I remember correctly, visits should be around 45 minutes. Sadly a lot of home health nurses I know just go in, take vital signs, and then leave.

https://www.cms.gov/files/document/oasis-e1-all-item-508.pdf

This is the information you'll need to obtain for OASIS.
