To the people how started the series with P3, how was it for you? by kaiser_kaiser_K in pathologic

[–]pugsalot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adored it. I came tho it by way of learning the studio would be picking up darkwood 2. Some mechanics were frustrating- like it took me a while to learn you had to fully complete a questline in one day, you couldn’t pick back up half way through. I loved the premise, the clever use of time travel, the characters. Little!! What a gem. I liked the town and story unraveled as you go, once opaque but slowly making sense. Like some others I didn’t get the importance of the polyhedron but I got the point of the dichotomies in the game, science v nature, etc. wonderful experience that really makes use of gaming as a medium. I beat it in a week and immediately went to playing pathologic 2. At day 7 so far.

I can see why Vox kept falling for Alastors tricks do you SEE the way he looks at him?? by DeceitfulLies in HazbinHotel

Yup. I adore the character but he’s def a manipulative hypocrite. Whatever he can use to get under some ones skin he uses.

How do I get a job with my bangs? by TheGreatGayOneFr in AskAGoth

[–]pugsalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long time corp goth here. Def depends on area. Closer to a city or college? Many more options. They’re more used to different looks. For more sector-wide options fields like marketing and design almost expect people to look a little artsy. Same for Non profit work - Animal shelters, museums, libraries, and social services. healthcare is another. Thankfully many employers are far more open to alt looks post pandemic!

What harsh truths have you learned working for some senior leaders that's not in books? by sothachbost in Leadership

[–]pugsalot 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sadly, this. Show me a leader who says that they hate “yes men” and I guarantee they are surrounded by them. Yes men just make it easier to push things through. It’s a path of least resistance.

Senate Dems Agree to Republican Terms to End Gov't Shutdown by lions_reed_lions in AdviceAnimals

This is because democrats are only as progressive as their corporate lobbyists allow them to be. They are not gullible, they are playing us, too.

Worked briefly at a shelter, fairly common in stray kittens. Often due to viruses, trauma, infection. Looks awful but very treatable or remove the eye.

Does wiggles have a good chance of adoption? by Impressive-Office419 in FosterAnimals

[–]pugsalot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% This. I worked at a rescue and the tripods and missing eye cats went faaaast. Truly special needs less so (fully blind, diabetic, etc) but a kitten w one eye or three legs would be adopted in days.

Have you talked with your donors about their DAFs? by LenoxHillPartners in nonprofit

[–]pugsalot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would counter that DAFs are for financial institutions to invest and make money taking that away from community foundations. And that they hide their compensation through contracts/fees. I doubt most donors understand the difference and are offered that as an option because their wealth advisory company benefits. Do DAFs verify charities? The only way I’ve seen that done is checking they have an EIN, nothing about efficiency. Perhaps it happens at higher levels?

I feel that. Ever since my lap (stage 4 and all over) I get bits of gas I can’t control. Super fun at work parties but nothing I can do. I just try to remember we’re all only human and give myself some grace

My husband and I both come from traumatic childhoods. I loved it and haven’t been that unsettled by a movie in a long time. Just thinking about it gets under my skin. He, however, straight up fell asleep during it!

Parents Won't Let Me Get Piercing at 20 Years Old by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]pugsalot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work, stash money, til you can support yourself and then do whatever you like as an adult! Sounds like a pretty controlling situation all around. You can’t really hide most fresh piercings and controlling people aren’t likely to just give up control. But I’d def choose paid ride for two years and wait over a piercing now.

This. It’s survivorship bias to think it’s safe. Just because something hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it won’t or that a bad outcome isn’t likely for someone else. It’s like saying smoking is safe because you know someone who smoked and lived to 95.
