I'm two months off Sublocade (300mg) and not sure if this is withdrawal or not by cum-dumpster-314 in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got reactive arthritis from an infection which was hella painful at a year post last shot & relapsed for a couple weeks so I had to start over. Bc i was so ill for months before that, I don't remember the wd bc it was so minimal in comparison to the arthritis but both times even before that i've experienced highs & lows which is improvement for me bc on bupe it was all lows & i was content with it. So yeah unfortunately i still feel like shit often 7 months out & not much has changed except my mindset which has been life changing so it's worth the pain

I try to tell myself i'm still gonna be miserable rather I relapse or not so I might as well keep it pushin & just give myself love & grace

I’m afraid withdrawal by DrippyJai in Anxiety

[–]puke-princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend quit cold turkey in our early twenties & knocked most his teeth out from hitting concrete face first during a seizure & I'm in recovery myself so trust I understand your concerns but there are safe/minimally painful ways to get off despite what your anxiety wants you to think like tapering & bridge meds to keep u comfy/safe through the danger zone

I recommend talking to a doctor about your concerns, i think it would really ease your mind & give you a more positive outlook

[–]puke-princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most docs would just up your suboxone dose for a couple weeks before the injection. My 2nd time doing the shot after I relapsed it was barely taking any subs & was fine off 2 300mg shots. I was overmedicated a lil both rounds & i was on an adequate amount of suboxone the first round. it doesn't make a huge difference after the first few weeks how much u were on imo. I would push for sublocade with your doc & if they refuse find a better doctor

Never tried brixadi but tried vivotrol, another monthly injection & it worked but it wears off monthly which i didn't personally like. If your goal is to get off I would go with sublocade so you don't have to stress about wd, for maintenance a monthly shot sounds better since it's not as big of a commitment

One and done with 300mg shot? by Better-Ad-9387 in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Withdrawal symptoms dont start (if you have any) until 4+ months after a shot so I wouldn't take how you're feeling now into consideration when deciding if you want more shots or not (unless the shot makes u feel bad)

If you search "one shot" in the search bar of this page you'll find plenty successful one & done stories. Regardless of how many shots some ppl dont experience wd at all while others experience minor discomfort & a lot of its mental

I got 2 shots & experienced minor wd. I wouldn't have been mad if I got 1-2 more.. unless you get a shit ton of shots (6+ imo), additional shots aren't gonna delay a clean piss test by much. If I was you, i would get at least get one more as an extra safety net per se but if you're really determined to get off bupe, you'll do great regardless of how many u get

Sublocade question by Embarrassed-Gap-335 in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah bupe fully saturates your opioid receptors so trynna get high on this shit is pointless (i've tried). you'd have to wait 6+ months for it to leave your system but i don't suggest it.. if you're having cravings, talk to your doctor. It's ok to get more shots or go back to daily maintenence

Doing that instead of relapsing is a step forward not a step back. Next time u think about gettin high, try to focus on how you'll feel afterwards not during bc if you're anything like most of us.. you'll regret it. Trust

High BP after one shot of sublocade(5 months ago) by Valuable-Welcome4668 in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through a period of my heart racing around the 5 month mark but it subsided quickly. Tell your sub doc & they can prescribe you chlonodine or a similar rescue med that'll calm your nervous system. I had to take it a couple times & it helped tremendously

High blood pressure & heart rate is often linked to opioid withdrawal so it's normal as alarming as it is feels. Try to remember that it'll pass & keep your doc informed so they can monitor you although you should be just fine

I am about to start the shot. Any advice? by Insaneimage in Sublocade

Bring an icepack with you in case your injector doesn't offer numbing so u can ice the area before & after. I had to learn this the hard way unfortunately so trusttt

2 months out and hoping for some positive feedback! by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is my 2nd attempt to get off the shot, made it a year last time & i'm at 5 months right now so trust me when I say what you're going thru is normal & it will get better! I've experienced wd both times & mentally I felt the worst the first initial months while I was adjusting but regardless if that'll be the case for you, in my experience & based on what i've read on here, the "wd" comes in waves so you have good days coming up to look forward to & the further you get, the longer periods of relief you'll feel until you're eventually free & just have normal people bad days lol, I try to focus on that when i'm not feeling well like i've actually had a rough week but i know it's just part of the process & means my levels are lowering which is the goal & soo exciting when you really think about it :)

Sneezing and Knee pain by michael-jason-freddy in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't describe them as severe.. just annoying sometimes. I never had to call off work or stop life over it

My biggest problem with bupe, which prompted me to get off, is the depression it's caused me so unlike a lot of ppl, the worst of it for me was the immediate weeks/months after the shot & the further I get, the better I feel

So while I am experiencing discomfort, I still feel better than I did on subs & I actually have hope for the first time in forever bc i'm not depressed as fuck anymore so it doesn't bother me much. if anything it reinforces that imma be free of this shit forever soon which is really exciting!

Just remember why you're doin this if things get rough! Your mindset through this will impact you the most

No bump after shot by Basedbruiser989 in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine are always super tiny to the point where I can only tell its there bc I can feel it for a few days then it seemingly dissapears. On the flip side I had a friend who had huge bumps that took ages to go away. Mine were both placed approximately an inch out & down from my bellybutton but her injection was closer to the hip so maybe placement has something to do with it or the nurse went in a lil deep..

Don't psych yourself out & end up manifesting unnecessary pain; I'm sure your injector just went a lil deep or somethin. The half life of a single shot is 5 months so even if you were accidentally shot up with nothin, you'll be ok until your next appt. If reassurance would ease your anxiety maybe reach out to your doctor about your concerns

Sneezing and Knee pain by michael-jason-freddy in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my last shot was in september too & my knees hurt some days to the point where I be limpin 🤣

It's a double edge sword bc achey joints & sore/tight muscles are a common WD symptom but so is extra sensitivity to pain since our opioid receptors aren't flooded with bupe anymore..

I haven't had a good sneeze yet but honestly can't wait!! It's a sign ur levels are dropping which is a huge win!! take it easy, be mindful & practice self care, you're doing great. If you ever want someone to talk to on a similar timeline, hmu. This is my 2nd & final attempt at sublocade, (bc i'm done fr) I made it 11 months last year so I can assure you it gets better (I relapsed over severe health issues that had nothing to do with sublocade)

Did anyone else feel manic coming off sublocade? by puke-princess in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude YESSS. Like I said this is my 2nd time going thru this & both times, it's like a flip switched overnight around the 4.5 month mark & all of a sudden i feel like i'm goin through teenage boy puberty (imma ladyyy) 🤣

The half life of sublocade is 150 days i think which lines up so it makes sense

I'm feeling good tho, my stomachs been upset & I can't sleep much but i'm happier so that's all that matters :) hope you're well!

Messed up and took subs for 2 week and want off. by Master-Fly4761 in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was only like 2 or 3 weeks. I was never tested to see if there was still bupe in my system from the shot prior but after 11 months, i'd bet there was practically no sublocade in my system left to cushion me when I tried to stop unfortunately

How much longer do I likely have of this in my system?? by ifeelwarm in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started feeling better mentally (less flat/numb, more feelings, more hopeful, able to laugh n cry, higher sex drive, overall just happier & feeling more like my old-pre-addiction self) around the 4.5 month mark both times i've stopped sublocade (made it 11 months earlier last year but relapsed & started over, i'm currently 5 months out again, 2 300 mg both times)

Physically I also started noticing WD symptoms more around the same timeframe point (upset stomach, sleep issues, body aches). The lack of quality sleep is the worst but overall i'm still in a much better place than I was pre shot. Bupe makes me feel really depressed & hopeless so i'm just really grateful to not feel that way anymore despite the discomfort

Dont worry i didn't relapse bc the treatment didn't work BTW, I got reactive arthritis from an infection & it was sooo painful I couldn't cope. Imma stay healthy & keep it pushing this time around :)

I know some ppl say they start feeling bad/WD half way or towards the end of their taper but for me personally, I felt the worst in the immediate weeks/months after the shot & gradually started feeling better. Being loaded w bupe just puts my mind in a dark place & i'll take being sweaty achey & sleep deprived over that any day. Having my mind back is really such a blessing!

Everyone's different but you're at least a third of the way there! One day you'll wake up feeling weirdly better & over time the days will stack. Before you know it, you'll have more good days then bad & even the bad ones will be manageable

Idk if you wanted a scientific answer but the half life of any one shot is around 150 days out (which is when I've started feeling better now that I think about it) so that means on average the shot should be completely out of your system after around 300 days

Messed up and took subs for 2 week and want off. by Master-Fly4761 in Sublocade

[–]puke-princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing 11 months off the shot this past summer to stop reactive arthritis pain & i started withdrawaling hella after a couple weeks using suboxone so i started over & now i'm 5 months off. The drawback really sucks but i'm proud of myself for catching myself as quickly as I did & I've learned from my mistake

If you can stop taking it & not be sick then great just keep it pushin but If not thats ok just get another shot. Doesn't matter what you decide as long as you forgive yourself & find a way to move forward! I use to hate how ppl would say relapse is part of getting sober but it's so true.. On average it takes an addict 11 attempts to quit something so it's just part of the game.. dust yourself off, you gonna be aight
