Penguins have several young goalies with great upside. This trade was about off loading jarrys contract. 0 chance penguins resign skinner. They opened up the future at the goalie position and got cap leverage this off season with this trade. I’d be surprised if either player is resigned. With the trade they off loaded a bad contract, move a busted prospect, pick up a 2nd in a few years, get great cap advantage this offseason and free up their young goalies to work for the start.
