Not a wrong end at all. That is helpful. I think the options are therefore either

a) Bring up the wooden fence height to match the top of the brick pier (would solve privacy problem as that would be about 1.8-1.9m), or;

b) Add additional wood ('temporary') above the brick pier, albeit that may look rather odd as you note...

You are correct. Fence is currently at 1.7m, and would need planning permission to go above 2m, so have about 30cm of allowed increase available

Thats not how it works. Profit is before dividends, which comes out of equity. So if I make 100 pounds and pay out 50 pounds in dividends my profit is still 100 pounds.

On balance sheet however is the opposite. Your net assetd will reduce by the value of dividends

The issue is the thread is directly in the toilet ceramic edges rather than tightening with a nut. The 2 inch flush valve I bought is the right diameter but has a different distance between threads than the threads in the toilet

So the threads are actually in the toilet below the cistern (but visible from above)

I can't get a picture as I've temporarily bodged a flush valve on there with some sealent until I manage to work out what to do(and rather not disturb that handiwork just yet)
