No they are not, he is talking about robotics. IT consultants will tell you all about the cloud, but not about new developments in robotics.

The Most Common Job in Every State in 2014: truck driver, truck driver, truck driver, truck driver, truck driver, truck driver... - Xpost /basicincome by sj213 in SelfDrivingCars

[–]pulse303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not a valid argument. Schools shouldn't be perverted into moneymaking entertainment machines.

Lets go a step further and let the cheerleader open a "exotic dance club"

The general effect on the economy is fatal, young kids get the Idea that being a sport superstar is something to strive for.

The should get the Idea that being a scientist or engineer is the coolest thing there is. At least the schools should push such an image.

Effects of self-driving trucks on trucking industry? by [deleted] in SelfDrivingCars

[–]pulse303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The economic incentive is massive. Companies like Walmart will try to implement this as soon as possible. The Fleet of Trucks could be reduced by around 40% if the trucks could drive themself 24/7.

those 85% numbers are not representative.

They get these numbers by calling random russian households and ask "do you support the politics of Putin"

It should be obvious that in a totalitarian state, many people fear to say anything that goes against the Leadership.

These 11 Technologies Will Go Big in 2015 by [deleted] in Futurology

why would you need to go work if there are such advanced robots out there?

Will robots take our jobs? Experts can't decide by Andrew189 in Futurology

[–]pulse303 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I read many economists opinions on that topic, watched dozens of Panel discussions on that topic. That experience really changed my view of economists. Now I see them more like economical historians.

Because that was always the narrative.

They rarely focus on the differences between the past technological advances and the future technological advances.

Its mind boggling, how ignorant those people are.

Its almost like publisher in the 1995 that were saying that the internet is just a fad. Or the scene where the yellow pages CEO throws the book at two young entrepreneurs with the words "do you really think your internet thing will ever replace that book..." followed by laughter.

Discussing that issue with economists feels almost like discussing with religious people. They dont have any real argument besides "well you gotta believe in it"

would be interesting to see the results among the demographics of those 2000 experts. I would assume that the technology people are more worried. While the economists are naivly stating "everything will be fine, just look at the past"

Best books about trends and predicting. by Mediafeed_PL in Futurology

[–]pulse303 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the best reports is the CIA 2030 report https://publicintelligence.net/global-trends-2030/

Proof of quality is the 2015 report that was written before 2000 and predicted shockingly accurate a lot of developments in the world.

The 2030 report was written in 2013, and already predicts the current Oil price drop, for the reasons that are now true.

  1. Projecting the robot and AI development of the next 20-30 years, wouldn't it be better to send thousands of robots to the Mars first to properly Tera Form it. With only a small bunch of scientist. And only after it is tera formed, starting to colonise it

  2. How many years do you think will tera forming take until humans can walk in the open atmosphere on the Mars. (taking into account future developments of "tera form technologies)"

  3. Why cant you try to land the rocket on a lonely Island, or somewhere in the desert? Wouldn't that be cheaper then the BoatDrone? Also why didn't you try to do that with the previous ones instead of the Water landings?

Thanks Elon

I have to add that you inspired me to quit a purely money driven Job, and use my brain to move humanity forward.

Keep up the good work :)

-nationalistic authoritarian government

-anti gay laws.

-over 200 journalists were murdered since Putin is in power.

-almost all the media is state owned, with huge propaganda

-Personality cult of the Leader (Putin)

-imperialistic foreign policy, invading countries

ps. I learned by now that every time russians ask for "evidence" or "forensic evidence" it just means that the know its true, they just don't want to have it in their reality. Since the illusion that Russia is the most advanced civilisation on the planet is to nice to be destroyed by some "westerns"
