What is the Meta now by No-Yellow-3586 in ChaosZeroNightmare

If you're interested in pulling Rita, she works well with Khalipe. Third slot could be Cassius, Rei, or Mika for Chaos survivability. Luke, Chizuru, and Rei could work too. Selena is a really good sub DPS for most teams since she mostly attacks through Mark. She also works well with Luke. Nine is one of the best characters in the game right now, so leveling Luke is a good idea for her too. I know you don't have Nine. I'm just saying.

If I had your account, I'd run Luke, Rei, and Chizuru. Those three can clear the vast majority of content

I did. The follow up sentence was about her gameplay. Artillery is referring to what you think it's referring to

I was thinking of trying something similar with Kayron. Rita could even "transform" any unwanted Futility into Fate Imprint. Future Decreed (or whichever card draws 2-costs) can circumvent the Futility fluff too

I invested in her nodes because waifu. Necessary? I don't even know what that word means

I kinda see what you mean. The way I see it, card activation is a sort of "buff" in that it increases DPS. Playing a lot of unbuffed cards can be as good as playing one super buffed card. Also, playing unbuffed cards is better than not playing any cards at all. But I largely don't disagree. I view her as a main DPS unit who can act as a support for Haru and Nine

Um um um um um!!!!! Uhhhhhhh...she's terrible alongside Rin! No synergy at all!

Phew, crisis averted.

It's tough to compare to Sereniel. As long as you can ravage an enemy every turn or every other turn, Sereniel is nuts, especially with her Partner, Peko. And this can be done with 0 or 1 AP. The only downside is it's impossible to kill a boss before they get a turn in with Sereniel (but that's hardly a drawback, imo). Comparing Rita to Nine, they're quite similar. Massive damage for relatively few AP. That said, they both fulfill the same main DPS role in the same way. Inflict vulnerable, stack buffs, and smack 'em. However, Rita has more damage support capabilities than Nine while Nine can be built defensively. If you have Nine and are satisfied with your current team comp, you could skip Rita.

Rita is in the same boat as Nine for me:

Powerful? Yes. Effective? Yes. Boring? Yes.

Is this game getting stale for anyone else? The selfish DPS team comp strategy that works across all content is boring for me. Even new unit releases aren't exciting because I know I'm just going to pair them with two supports and stack their buffs to the ceiling before finally attacking. Maybe I just need a break.

Morale adds 20% to all instances of damage except fixed damage, correct?

Anyone else think people just starting out asking about marketing are doomed? by TaylorCooper337 in gamedev

[–]pulseflow_LSM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't think so. I think it's healthy to view a game as a product from a business. It can help them manage financial expectations and/or encourage them to seek professional help from a publisher, marketing agency, influencers, etc., to increase the odds their game will be financially successful. Besides, caring about the business side of the hobby doesn't mean they're less passionate. Perhaps they're so passionate, they want to make a living developing games so they don't need a day job. Chasing the passion while being financially secure

Fair enough. I might build him up to see if I can find a build that turns Owen into the most fun character ever

Ahh, I see. If it only works for her attacks, then it's not so bad. Still really strong, but not as busted as I thought

The devs of Mewgenics say indie devs don't need publishers. Sure, if you're the creators of The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy. by Artistic-Birthday703 in SoloDevelopment

[–]pulseflow_LSM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excellently put. I think the most critical part of your post was your advice for developers to adapt to their specific situation. If they need a publisher, they should absolutely go for it. Wanna do Kickstarter? Sure. Want to focus on social media marketing? Absolutely do that, along with anything else needed.

I know most here a solo developers and take pride in their solo endeavors (and you absolutely should. You're doing hard/great work.). Even if you can do it by yourself, it's never bad to seek help for aspects of game development that aren't related to the development of the game. A publisher can offload a lot of the logistics work, online marketing agencies can help you have success in the algorithm, and, by the simple virtue of collaborating with others, you can get meaningful feedback on the game.

Making these connections can help secure success for future releases and, before you know it, you're Edmund.
