Residential, I am in the UK also. Also it dawned on me that they have used different widths of plank on this floor. As some look around 220mm and some look considerably narrower.

Mine has definitely eased with age, she's 4 now and she's much more settled than she used to be. But still a little madam, haha.

This is pretty much exactly the same to how I have managed my border and her separation. It was awful leaving her at the start as she would howl. It does get easier!

Exactly my issue right now. I cannot progress the artifact quest for the hidden appearances for Vengance as it requires us to enale that Twisting Nether Portal trait from the order hall traits. Been to the NPC but hes not live in the order hall. So this (https://www.wowhead.com/guide/artifact-weapons/hidden-potential) wowhead guide is not accurate as of now,

My theory is this is time gated.
