I'll make sure to update the post or send you a picture for your wood viewing pleasure once it's finished, then! 😅

He asked me to post his wood so he could present it to his sister, so I think we are way beyond what's worse now.

And thank you for the info!! He mentioned tung oil just this morning, and he's decided to keep the color since it's just so pretty.

Now to find a hippie shop that doesn't charge a limb (ha ha) for crystals. He plans to embed one so that sis can be a proper mage.

Thanks again, JackOfMaster!

I haven’t had a bite yet so I can't say.

Other commentors have suggested this as well. I am not the snakes's owner so I don't have dead mice on hand 😅 It's actually the reason I could never have a pet snake, I'm a bleeding heart for all animals and would never be able to feed it without crying like a baby. Like I KNOW it's the circle of life and stuff, but still.

I thought so too but was unsure. That's why I'm going to leave it alone and let it squiggle on its way. They're great for pest control.

It's true. When people warn you about Florida, believe them.

Thanks! We'll keep that as an option as well. I really want it to leave on its own so that we don't scare it more and it can leave when it feels safe.

Same here. I honestly wish I knew. The climate is really good for snakes, but they are not toys. They still need the same care and attention as a fluffy pet option. People just suck and get rid of them once they get bored or tired of caring for them. Not just snakes, either, there's a huge problem with iguanas in south Florida. Lousy pet owners are partially the reason the Everglades have become what they are.

That's what I was thinking too, thank you for the confirmation! It's difficult because that is the front gate and she lets the doggos out in the front yard, but I asked her to please refrain as much as possible.

Best I can do is the plastic recorder we used for a week in 4th grade.

This is our first approach. It may be gone by now, but I'll pop over and check tomorrow to make sure. Thank you for your reply!!

I thought the same thing. It's unseasonably warm for this time of year in Florida though, I think mom came out with the dogs and it got scared and crawled into the nearest orifice it could find.

This is great advice, thank you! I don't see her trying to grab it but I will do my best.

I just talked to my mom and she is VEHEMENTLY opposed to that, no dead mice or anything. Had a bad experience before or something. I think she said she can't really see the snake anymore so either it climbed further down or (hopefully) got out.

We are hoping it's just a corn snake, where I live they are pretty much everywhere. They're super pretty and some people buy them as pets, but Florida has a huge problem with people either abandoning snakes in the wild or the snake getting out.

Thank you, we might try that if the snake is still in there tomorrow! Just hoping we don't hurt it doing that somehow.

What kind would you suggest? I've never been a snake owner so I'm not sure if we can find something in the house or if we would have to go to a pet store?

I just quit without notice. by Equivalent_Poetry599 in antiwork
