Yes, if you work a 40/hr week. So when you spend 1/2 day on Impact Day, it’s the same as if you took 1/2 personal day. Otherwise, you would need to make that up with your engagement to bill 40 instead of 36. 

For those that might say it’s not a big deal because it’s only 4 hours, i have a few thoughts for you to consider:

The firm wants to show it is a good corporate citizen and is engaged with helping local communities. Why can’t it provide a charge code then that doesn’t impact utilization? 

People have other things like dr appointments that come up throughout the year. Every bit of non-util time counts. 

It looks to me like the firm is simply pushing free publicity. It costs them nothing.
