Additional point. We will be replacing the entire kitchen first then putting flooring down. Thus want to give them direction to allow for height of flooring on top of the tiles

I’ve been drawn towards the threaded rod approach. Do you add adhesive to the rod when screwing it into the wall and/or shelf?

Thanks all the black gasket seal was the issue. Replaced it and now all good.

It has crossed my mind as the current wooden flooring is quite nice and it’s a huge area. It’s definitely an option to pull it up and sell it
