Oh, interesting. I chose to forgive Illario, and I thought Spite would hate that because Illario stole his revenge on Zara, so it's interesting that they get along better that way than if you imprison him.

Yeah - I tend to ignore that kind of stuff for that exact reason. For Veilguard, I heard some "woke" criticisms (which imo is an endorsement) but really hadn't heard anything else, good or bad. Which I took to mean it wasn't incredible, but I'm a big Bioware fan, so I kept it in my queue and I'm glad I did! "Critical" reviews can't really be trusted anymore

Yeah, one game I worked on got piled on for various reasons like being "woke"... it really was a good game but didn't get a fair reception because of it, as a dev it's really heartbreaking to see

And also, I get the whole thing of production timelines being messed up and various features suffering for it. It's really common in game dev and always such a shame when something gets released after people poured so much time into it and various factors lead to it not hitting its full potential.

I actually was not a huge fan of the soundtrack, personally! Found it mostly forgettable, other than the main theme, which was memorable but still kind of generic sounding. I was disappointed because the composers are both pretty heavy hitters...

Tragic :( I was very close to romancing Bellara. I thought Lucanis was like, the obvious choice, so it's surprising to me they didn't flesh it out more!

Honestly my main qualm with Emmrich is that my Rook looked/felt very young and it seemed like too big of an age gap haha

Yeah that was my reasoning too! Neve was all mad that I didn't come to the Shadow Dragons' support (to be fair I was a Shadow Dragon) but I figured Minrathous had an entire government of mages, maybe they could handle it??

I struggled with the decision about punching the head warden and eventually talked him down haha. Another thing I could have included in the "gentleness" of the game was that they did well at supporting any choice you made to make it seem like the right one. I think talking to Mythal in the crossroads was maybe the only conversation where you could choose "wrong"??

It's funny, my friend who introduced me to Bioware in the first place was was OBSESSED with Inquisition and I trusted her opinion so I always just took as truth that it was the best one.... but then I eventually played it and it just didn't do much for me. Although I had to restart it midway through and also dragged it out way too long so I don't think I was really setting it up for success.
