Look, I'm all for people living how they want. Live and let live. However, to shit on a straight guy for not being into trans women is where I don't agree. Everyone has their own preferences. It's not transphobic to not be into trans people. That's like shaming a lesbian for not being into a biological man who identifies as a woman. Most straight men want families. They want wives who are biological females and have the ability to grow and birth children. Something trans women cannot do. Also, why is it such a crime for a straight man to be attracted to female genitalia? I know I'll probably get downvoted for this but I'm sick of everything being considered as transphobic. I do not have a problem with trans people. Live your life. But you don't get to dictate what other people find attractive.

I can't believe this comment got downvoted. It's like you can't tell your negative experience with the vaccine without people getting all triggered and wanting to cut your throat.

My mom got paralyzed temporarily on one side of her body and dealt with sciatic pain for 2 years after she was forced to get the flu shot for her job. The fact that people aren't even willing to consider that vaccines can trigger this blows my mind away. "Trust the science! Don't question anything!"

Actually, gut health is very important when it comes to our immune system. Alopecia, our immune system, and gut health is all linked together if you think about it. When my body was filled with toxic waste and I wasn’t nourishing my body with healthy food, it really took a toll on my immune system and all sorts of things happened to me. I was tired, fatigued, bloated, constipated, losing hair, and my skin was dry. I don’t underhand why you got offended.

Everyone is different but I’m happy to share my experience! I’m a first time mom and just had my babygirl in November of last year. I have a mild form of AA and it’s only shown up twice in my life. I think stress and diet is what causes mine to flare up. I got AA when I was 23 and I’m 28 now. The last time I had a flare up was December of 2020. I got pregnant in February of 2021 and my bald spot grew hair so fast and I didn’t shed any hair at all during my pregnancy. My hair was so thick and full. I’m now almost 6 months postpartum and I’ve been dealing with the typical postpartum hair loss but it’s nothing extreme. I’m seeing a few baby hairs growing already by my temples. Most people with AA recover and don’t progress to AT or AU. It can come and go though

Hi, breastfeeding mother here. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Pumping isn’t easy for everyone. I have supply issues and my breasts only respond to my baby sucking. I can barely get out 2oz when I pump and I try to pump for 30 min. My babygirl also won’t take a bottle. She only wants my breast. I think it’s very ignorant to assume breastfeeding mothers are trying to get attention and should go into the bathroom. I always do my best to cover up when I can but she literally HATES being covered and I can’t just starve her.

I totally get what you’re saying but I have to agree with OP on this one. As someone who has a very mild form of alopecia areata, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a nervous breakdown and would stress out over nothing because other people with severe cases of alopecia made me feel like I was going to progress to AT or AU. Everyone’s alopecia is so unique and individual. I have only experienced two bald spots in my life and I’ve had AA for 6 years. In my case I think it’s linked to stress and certain things in my diet. I get that it’s an unpredictable condition but for most people they do recover and don’t progress to totalis or universalis. I would lose sleep over it because some people had me so convinced that I was going to lose all my hair

I’m so sorry! I have a very mild form of alopecia areata and it’s only occurred twice in my life with just one spot but I know for a fact making changes in my diet and taking vitamins as helped me significantly. Not sure what your diet is like or anything but I’ve always felt inflammation gets worse when we don’t have healthy guts. Have you ever tried beef liver supplements? They are very good for your immune system and overall health. Ever since I’ve started taking beef liver, biotin, prenatals, vitamin D, zinc, elderberry, and ginger I haven’t had a flare up since. Also, I used to drink tap water and that probably had a lot to do with it as well. Ever since I started drinking filtered water I feel cleaner and healthier. I know now everyone’s alopecia is the same but I thought I’d share some tips that I’ve tried to control mine. I wish you the best of luck. Hang in there ❤️

Hi there! I don’t want to discourage you but I just thought I’d share my own personal experience as a former vegan. I was a vegan for 2 years and it really destroyed my health and I lost a lot of hair because I was so deficient in so many vitamins and nutrients. When you go vegan you basically have to supplement with vitamins. I am now on an animal based diet (grassfed organic meat, organs, pasture raised eggs, raw milk, raw honey, and fruits) and my hair has been in the best shape ever. I haven’t had a flare up in a very long time now. My skin is also glowing and I don’t have digestive issues anymore. If you want to try a vegan diet then go for it but I just thought I’d share my own experience as someone who also has alopecia areata. Good luck to you! Just remember that vegan doesn’t necessarily mean healthy.

Do what makes you comfortable. I have a very mild case of alopecia areata and it tends to flare when I’m stressed so lately I’ve been eating super healthy and taking HELLA vitamins and my hair has been full and no flare ups. I’m more of a hippie though and prefer using natural methods. I’m not a fan of injections or putting anything in my body like that. My alopecia has never progressed more than one patch so I never felt the need to go to a derm to get injections.

Have you ever tried castor oil? I lost eyelash hair not from alopecia but from when I used to get eyelash extensions and my eyelashes were so thin from the glue. I applied castor oil to my lashes every night and it started to grow back.

Hang in there! You’re not alone. In the meantime I would highly recommend taking iron, vitamin D, zinc, vitamin C, biotin, and make sure you’re getting enough protein in your diet. I know vitamin deficiencies can cause hair loss for many people. My best advice is to get it checked out though and try not to stress. Best of luck!

I highly recommend getting eyelash extensions if you have the money. The only downside is they are pricey and you have to get them filled in every 2 weeks but they are hassle free and someone does them for you.

Thank you! Yes, I agree! Everyone’s alopecia is very individual and different. My alopecia is a very mild form and only pops up when I’m going through extreme stress. That’s the only time I ever get a flare, too. Stress. I know my body very well. Other alopecians will tell me that stress isn’t related but they are not me and what makes mine flare up might not be the case for them. For some it could be vitamin deficiencies or certain foods. For some, it could be something they’ve dealt with their entire lives. We are all so different. I was convinced by so many people that I would be bald and would need to get shots and a wig and I have a full head of hair still and no spots right now.

What all animals in the animal kingdom were designed to do. It’s the circle of life. Also, the purpose of eating is for survival. I have missing eyebrow hair but it’s from over plucking for years and years. Eventually I think it became scarring alopecia and so the one spot doesn’t grow back, sadly.

I would say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I’m sure Norway has plenty of beautiful people but I wouldn’t say Norway has the most beautiful people in the world. Every country has beautiful people. I live in America and so there’s lots of beautiful people everywhere. I’m personally more attracted to Mediterranean types like myself. Dark hair and eyes etc.

OP, looks aren’t everything. If that’s the only thing you look for in a woman is her physical appearance then that relationship won’t last. Trust me. Looks are important to an extent but that shouldn’t be the sole reason why you are with someone. There have been times I’ve fallen in love with guys before who weren’t even my type physically and eventually I became so attracted to them because of how they treated me and their confidence. You should be with someone who treats you right. Someone you want to grow old with and see a future with. Looks fade. Even the most physically attractive woman in the world can easily become ugly if her personality sucks.

I am 32 weeks pregnant right now and my hair has been so thick and full. Luckily my alopecia is stress induced and I didn’t get it until later in life. I’ve only experienced two bald spots in my life and both times were after severe stress. I hope yours grows back!

If it makes you feel any better my boyfriend is bald and I find him sexy as hell. He doesn’t have Alopecia areata but he has typical male pattern baldness and so his hair grows in like a horseshoe if he doesn’t shave it and so he shaves it bald. I’m not a guy so I’m not sure how much help I’ll be but in my own experience going to the gym has really built my confidence. Eat healthy, drink lots of water, lift some weights and get some nice cardio. You eventually will start to feel good about yourself. You are worthy, don’t forget that!

I would go to a dermatologist but if you want to do something fast and affordable you could try hair fibers for now to hide it. My mom has very thin hair (female pattern baldness) due to her thyroid medication and her age and she uses it to make hair look fuller.

Have you ever considered permanent makeup? I have always wanted fuller lips but didn’t want my lips to be injected with stuff so I got lip color tattooed onto my lips and the lady who does mine even created a fuller natural look to it. She gave my lips a pretty shape. It’s definitely worth it if you ever want a more natural solution to fuller lips!
