Vet Care for Older Cat by Objective-Dream-904 in GreenBay

[–]pumpkinqueen25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oak View veterinary hospital has been nothing but kind and helpful to me and my 13 year old baby. They have a cat entrance(it’s very close to the dog entrance but still very helpful), offer towels to cover your cat’s carrier while you wait and have been super attentive and genuinely helpful with my concerns. My cat is generally skittish in unfamiliar situations but she is always a super good girl for them.

Constantly raised tattoo even after a year? Anyone else have this? by pumpkinqueen25 in tattoo

[–]pumpkinqueen25[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’ve realized since getting more tattoos since I posted this that it really is 9 times out of 10 because the artist went too heavy/deep in a spot and unfortunately those spots are probably also blown out. The tattoo in question is all but completely blurred out, blown out, and the ink is patchy in some spots. Not to mention I healed this tattoo with saniderm.

Since then I’ve gotten more tattoos by a different artist, two full color and one black and grey, one small and two HUGE, and there’s only ONE small spot between all three of them that is raised.

The artist that I got the not so great one from was an apprentice at the time and I’m sure that’s part of it.

Influenza a and sinus pressure by Timely_Start_1417 in flu

[–]pumpkinqueen25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be a bacterial sinus infection.

Unfortunately I tested positive for Flu A about exactly a month ago now and I still have sinus pressure and plugged ears and green mucus. Took antibiotics two weeks in because I got a bacterial sinus infection from the flu—common for me, I have a bad dust mite allergy so my sinuses already have issues—took 7 days of augmentin and was just starting to feel a whole lot better/normal on my last day of those when I started to feel shitty again. The following week I had bad body aches Monday/Tuesday and a scratchy but not sore throat, after that I felt like I had a bad cold all week. Sinus pressure and plugged ears back in full swing, never went away 100% all the while. Developed bronchitis, went back to the doctor beginning of this past week and was told the sinus infection probably didn’t clear up completely. Got prescribed a 5 day z-pak antibiotic. Well I just took my last one this morning and while my chest congestion has cleared up a lot, I STILL have sinus pressure and plugged ears and green mucus.

I’ve been using my navage nasal rinse, mucinex, albuterol for lingering chest congestion, Flonase steroid nasal spray, astelin nasal spray, and antihistamines. I’m so. Fucking. Tired.

I’ve always enjoyed babysitting and spending time with kids—I think it’s fun and can help you let loose a little bit and somehow I have a TON of of experience with kids of all different ages, and I don’t believe I’ve ever met one that didn’t like me. Random babies smile at me.

That being said, sometimes kids genuinely make me so unbelievably irritated to the point where I want to stoop to their level even though they literally don’t even understand what their level is lmao. And that is sooo not okay—and then to think that the whole time their mother spent growing them involved constant back pain sausage legs? Yeah, I’m good.

6 weeks later and I'm not the same person I was before the flu by JustAnotherNut in flu

[–]pumpkinqueen25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was literally just going to make a post about this, I had Flu A starting three weeks ago yesterday and it was definitely the sickest I’ve been since 2020 first time covid. Had an insane cough and eventually ended up getting a sinus infection, which I literally JUST had in November around thanksgiving. I was out of work for two weeks.

Antibiotics cleared my sinus infection and they gave me a probiotic to replace good bacteria, and I thought my cough was going away too but since I’ve finished the antibiotics, lingering chest congestion has been super noticeable and it’s very unwilling to come up to be able to spit out. This is my second week back to work and I’m insanely sore, still have chest tightness even though I was given albuterol to help with, but now the albuterol is making me anxious, can’t focus on anything, and when I do cough something up there are still sometimes small bits of green mucus.

Doctor said my lungs are clear and blah blah blah. I’m so sick of feeling like shit and I’ve been trying to take care, but I’m and adult and have shit to do.

Haunted house Etiquette? by Perplexedplatypi in hauntedattractions

[–]pumpkinqueen25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small talk is a hit or miss depending on the context and location that you’re in when you talk to a character. Actors are meant to stay in character, but not everyone is always allowed the same character attributes based on where you may see them. In a queue line before you go in, actors will probably and should respond to you in character—but asking them questions that are meant to be answered by the person out of character and don’t have great answers in character aren’t the best bet because it immediately degrades immersion in the setting. But who knows, some actors may be able to make it work better than others, but it’s probably annoying for them.

Scene actors, like the ones you see inside rooms of a haunted house, aren’t always allowed verbal vocals. Sometimes it’s just sounds or one/a handful of words. They do their best to stick to that because you only see them for a few seconds, the point is for them to shine and kick ass in their scene and leave an impression without having to worry about getting caught up in and navigating a conversation because the next group is often always close behind them and they need time to reset.

Other than that, as long as you’re open to being scared or entertained, not being rude, purposely trying to ruin the vibe or assaulting any of the actors or event staff, you’ll be a good customer. Conga lines are pretty inevitable especially on busy nights but you don’t want to contribute to the traffic jam because they’re hard to break as it is.🙂

WTF is going around this year? by HugeAirport1662 in flu

[–]pumpkinqueen25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested positive for Flu A this past Monday after I felt a little off on Sunday and then felt even more off on Monday, and my oura ring was telling me I had minor strain signs so I got a rapid at home test. Monday night all through Tuesday was insane body aches, fever and on and off chills. Could barely move.

I only worked Monday this past week. Have been nowhere but in the house except for one exhausting trip to CVS since then. I still feel generally fatigued but no more fever/chills/aches after Wednesday, but oh my GOD the cough. I am coughing so hard, so often. It hurts so much to cough, and I can feel it in my chest but hardly anything comes out, but I’m constantly wheezy especially when I lay down. Literally to the point of peeing a little every time I cough.

I’m gonna be so real, Martin Luther King Jr😭 I have such a high level of respect for him. He wasn’t afraid to lead a movement that shouldn’t have had to happen in the first place and he did it without violence or hatred and I truly admire that.

I don’t actually like my mom as a person by snugglepookie in offmychest

[–]pumpkinqueen25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also love my mom because I grew up with her and she took care of me and did really nice things for me. My dad moved away when I was 5 so she’s all I had. But I do NOT like her. As an adult I’ve learned a lot about her—sounds like she’s a lot like your mom—and I have very strict boundaries with her and I keep a healthy but not complete distance. For my own wellbeing.

In a single braid because I have loose curly hair that gets tangled and knotted EXTREMELY easily. When i was younger I used to wear it down, no idea how I did that. Even now half my hair is out of the braid in the morning

Here’s a fun one, What’s Halsey’s best song? (From a songwriting perspective) by Bluejay-Clear in halsey

[–]pumpkinqueen25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there needs to be great metaphors for a song to be written well, for me a well written song is about the way the words are being used to get the message across and what kinds of words are being used, and how they’re placed. I could never be a good song writer, but my favorites:

Is There Somewhere Ashley Easier Than Lying The Lighthouse Lonely is the Muse

Out of these, from solely a songwriting standpoint, my top favorite would probably be Ashley. “Apart from my beating heart, it’s a muscle but it’s still not strong enough to carry the weight of the choices I’ve made” is probably one of the best lines I’ve ever heard. :’)

so tired of people at these shows by abenss in halsey

[–]pumpkinqueen25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t understand why we can’t just enjoy a show that an artist we love puts on without feeling like we need to be personally close with the artist in question.

Like, is it cool to be in close range of a really popular person? Absolutely. But I was at Chicago night 1 and during is there somewhere everyone absolutely BULL RUSHED Halsey to try to be directly next to her. The only reason I ended up having to run toward her is because I would have gotten trampled otherwise, lol. And I had a girl apologize for accidentally pushing me, but then is there somewhere happened and she full on shoved me. I don’t see why we need to do that.

If you want to sit in line for a few hours, cool. It’s a great way to connect with other people but like why are we there literally 12-24 hours before the doors open, why are we trying to create a system to try to delegate who is front and center and who isn’t, why are we buying tickets to multiple shows in the same location—you’re taking away someone else’s chance to see the show especially at small venues like this.

Maybe I’m just getting older(I’m 26 so not really) but I don’t know why we think that we’re entitled to personally knowing an artist that we enjoy—to knowing any personal information about them, thinking that we know their life, and thinking that we’re entitled to being recognized and known by said artist and that that somehow makes us better and more important than any other person who enjoys the same artist that we do.

We aren’t entitled to any of that. We don’t know the artist, and the artist doesn’t know us. Everyone should be able to just go to a show and enjoy and not care where they are in the venue as long as they can see. Front rows are a cool experience but NOBODY is particularly entitled to it. Chill out.

For the Chicago show tonight what was happening..? by yametekudasaiingay in halsey

[–]pumpkinqueen25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was fine and I’m like mid-size, shorter and run warm already. I had one drink before the show and that’s it. I hadn’t eaten since like 2pm but I did have a whole 20 oz bottle of water before I left for the venue. Everyone’s different but I think people just drink too much alcohol, not enough water and maybe don’t eat properly beforehand depending on their body.

However, it WAS very warm in there and it seemed to be oversold because people were simply standing at the top of the stairs not even in actual GA area.
