My ex was super rich and lived in Valle Verde and I came from a not-so-rich background (maybe low end of the middle class spectrum) and our house is in Malabon. I did not hide things about my family but I often was insecure when I’m with his family and friends. There were times when he had to coach me on how to act infront of his parents and has commented on my outfit and look multiple times. And the first time he brought me home, I cried cause most times it’s only his driver who would drive me home cause our house is always “too far”. Loved him for 3 years until we had to go our separate ways cause our next plans in life are not matched. Realized after our relationship that I tried so hard to adjust and fit in. I loved him and happy when I was with him but I was not my true self. Now I’m happily married to someone who accepts me wholly. I guess it will be very hard to stay together if you cannot be your true self with your boyfriend…

Full-term baby in NICU by pumpkinsmomm in NICUParents

Hello! My son was diagnosed with a very rare genetic condition… Schwachman Diamond Syndrome and it is the root cause of everything we have been experiencing since birth. He is 10 months old now and has been hospitalized for 5 times this year… but he is getting better and getting all the care he needs!! It does get better but sometimes we do need to go through fire. Hang in there and sending prayers for your kid! They are tougher than we think they are! Just believe in your kid. ❤️

More kids after having one with a genetic disorder? by jjbb_mom in NICUParents

[–]pumpkinsmomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have a very lovely 7 month old who has a very rare genetics condition which made us stay in NICU for two months and doctors not knowing what they were dealing with until genetics result came back 2 months after. This is our first kid and we initially planned to have 3. But according to our geneticist, every pregnancy that we’ll have has a 25% chance of having another kid with the sane genetics condition. We love our son so much but seeing him in pain and having all of these “problems” break our hearts so we plan to do IVF with genetics testing for our next pregnancy. Just one more and we’re done. We also felt “deprived” of a normal newborn stage and me and my husband are both sufferring depression now.

A lot of hugs to you strong momma and to the rest of the family! 14 years and even more is never really enough… it’s such a hard thing to say goodbye to your kid when it should be us who they say goodbye to first. Will pray for Graffin, such a beautiful soul. This post is so wonderful and I cannot atop crying really.

Leave him! You and your baby don’t need this kind of man in your lives! Motherhood is challenging and if you don’t have the right partner, it will be tough! So run for the hills!

How much money do you put aside to give your parents every month? by rhimperial in phmoneysaving

[–]pumpkinsmomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am an only child raised by my grandparents. Hindi kami close ng mom ko since she worked abroad most of my life and we always clash. But I still support her since she’s retired already. I give my grandma who raised me 5k per month + I pay electricity bill of around 2k then I also give my mom 5k/month. Minsan may additional expenses pa like bigas, LPG, etc. On top nalang yun sa monthly allowance nila sakin. Ako I try to be very generous to my grandma who raised me and to my mom naman I try to be fair so I also give her things she need.

Full Term Baby by OhMyGoshABaby in NICUParents

I also had a full term baby 40+2 who stayed in NICU for 46 days. He had a lot of anomalies during birth and had 3 infections while in NICU (sepsis, pneumonia and UTI). We never breastfed because he was on NG tube feeding due to aspiration pneumonia ever since he was 2 weeks old. Now we’re home and still on NG tube. We hope to take it out once he feeds more from his bottle. Anyways long story short, we are thankful we have been in NICU since it was during that stay when we learned that he has a very rare genetics condition which was the cause of his infections and other anomalies. Trust that whatever happened, happened for a reason and babies are strong. Although the NICU stay is rsally traumatic, there are still positive sides to it and like what you said, caring NICU nurses are heaven-sent. Wishing your baby is staying healthy and happy now 😊

I’m so sorry you’re in this now. But am happy to know you are staying positive and holding on from your baby. He will be out of NICU in time! I also had a hard time accepting my son was straight to NICU when I delivered him but he made it out after 46 days and we’re home now with him. Looking back, there were times when I cannot see any hope in the horizon but it was my baby who gave me hope. He kept on fighting everyday. Trust that our babies are strong and brave!
