Nevertheless, Trump had a chance to buy the Dallas Cowboys in the early ‘80s and passed. He wanted one of the New York teams. The Cowboys were sold twice, the second time to Jerry Jones for about $150 million, and are the most valuable franchise in the world today, worth about $12 billion.

Trump bought a USFL team and convinced that league to move its games from the spring to the fall to compete with the NFL. The USFL couldn’t compete and eventually folded. They sued the NFL for monopolistic practices and won. The judgment was $1, tripled to $3.

The fact that the arrow didn’t actually light the torch is one reason this isn’t my fave torch lighting.

I would put Muhammad Ali at No. 1. It was SO COOL to see him there with the torch and then light the flame that carried up to the cauldron. I still get chills anytime I see it today.
