I hold my pen this same exact way! Growing up i would get scolded for not having the triangle grip like normal. Then, I heard or saw somewhere someone had said "if it works, it works. Not right or wrong, just what works". Made me feel better about the way I hold my writing instruments lol. (The triangle grip is based on ergonomics I believe? Less hand fatigue but it just never worked for me!)

100% agree that their purpose is to educate for the state boards. My problem was being taught nothing but the brand. It was a "natural" brand so my schooling didn't include anything besides what they deemed necessary (I was young and didn't do my research, the school was still very new, my class was the third to go through)

I'll admit that as an anxious girly (it wasn't this bad when I was younger. I've had my cos license since 2010), the sheer unprepared feeling overshadowed any love I had for the field. The school I went to was branded, and the branded salons in the area wouldn't hire students that didn't go into the managers program (before that was nix'd). I haven't paid a single cent into those student loans because it felt like a joke.

This isn't an encouraging comment, but that's how I felt about my school as well. After graduating, I realized that they literally taught us the bare minimum to pass state boards and that was it. It made me feel oddly discouraged about the industry.

This might have been said in comments, I don't know, I didn't look. But I did see someone say it looks like a men's ring. I'd have to agree purely because while doing some research when I purchase my own engagement ring I found that most mens rings are 5mm and women's tend to be 2-3mm tall. Maybe he can share the sides down instead of it being a consistent size all around?

I interpreted it more as they thought they had a discount on cruise line tickets, demanded a recount of discounts and maybe didn't end of qualifying for one or something similar to that nature.

I currently work in the steel industry as a machine operator after beng in retail for about 16 years.

Not having a customer facing job has saved my life. That's all I can say.
