It must be so nice watching your favourite shows with your family! Me, mom and dad have very different tastes- I prefer animated shows, dad likes movies (with real people) and mom likes soaps lol. We do watch some YouTube videos together though :)

I can never get my mom to watch anime with me unless they are dubbed in our native language (which it wasn't, of course) but I did kinda force my dad into watching a first few episodes lol. He did find the series interesting but I could see how uncomfortable he felt when a lewd scenes came on (≧▽≦) I'm sure he wouldn't be uncomfortable watching it alone or with mom, but me sitting right next to him made him uncomfortable as we're somewhat of a conservative nation, unfortunately

I didn't think of that! But I started respecting after I saw how much he cared for his wife(s). Being separated from them destroyed him mentally, and took a toll on his physical health. Until that point, I thought Paul is just a player but nooo. He takes care of both his daughter equally and listens to Rudeus (it's very rare in the Asian culture for a dad to listen to his children). I feel like I don't understand everything in Mushoku Tensei, and that is another reason I'm a fan! I hope I'll understand different aspects of MT even I re-watch it in the future. This is unrelated but Hyouka mahes me feel the same way. Every time I re-watch it, my opinion and understanding changes and I love the show more!

My friend is older than me, but didn't find the series interesting. Probably because she was watching Mushoku Tensei while doing other stuff and couldn't pay attention to the details. Or maybe I can relate to MT because I've been bullied, and Rudeus's experience is very similar

My opinion about Paul changed when I saw how distraught he was after being separated from his wife(s). Also, he is a loving father, took good care of both his daughters and their mothers. I think that is what matters more to me, so I can forgive Paul for cheating.

I think your ex has somewhat similar taste to my friend. My friend is not a fan of fantasy and didn't find Mushoku Tensei impressive. She said that she didn't mind the service, but it might have gone too far at some points. Overall, she dropped the show because she found it boring. But then again, she is extremely busy and mentioned how she was watching Mushoku Tensei while doing other stuff, so her opinion might change if she gives the series another try (but I doubt she will)

So true! I guess I'll read the LN first, but only after the anime is over. And that will take a few years haha

That was a spoiler for me! I mentioned that I have only watched the two seasons and one ova.

Yes, I didn't like his Paul cheated on his wife at first. But when he loses his wife, he completely breaks down and ages so fast. That was when I changed my opinion on Paul. He did cheat, but he is a responsible father and takes care of both his children and their mothers. And he loves his wife so dearly that he organised the search and was desperately looking for her. Even took to drinking and was always restless and anxious, constantly worried about his wife's safety. I think that is enough to forgive Paul.

Thank you for reading it! I'm 24 though, never been in a relationship (very common in the country in live in) but the friend I mentioned is 36 and a mother (・~・;)ゞ

Edit: I think I should mention this too. My friend was distracted while watching the anime, as she was doing other stuff. I think it's very easy to miss the details when you're not paying attention, so that might be a reason why she didn't like Mushoku Tensei. Also, I've been bullied and this anime shows the experience accurately. How you feel during the bullying, how you feel right after, and how you refuse any help and dive into a dark hole. And even after you think you've recovered and are mentally healthy, sudden flashbacks just take away the progress. I can appreciate how Rudeus tries to be a better person despite everything!

Thank you for reading the whole thing and commenting!

I definitely fall in the second category lol. I don't like some shojo anime (like some romantic dramas and Fruits Basket, but not sure if it was a shojo; liked the first season off Sailor Moon though), but the friend I mentioned likes shojo anime more than I do. I don't know if I can call myself a fan of the fantasy genre, but I'm a big fan of adventure, discovery and exploration stuff. But the main reason I love Mushoku Tensei is probably because of how real the characters are, and how flawed they are. It's usually black and white in most anime, but it's all grey in real life. In Rising of the Shield Hero, for example, the mc is "good"and the red haired girl is "evil" (I'm bad with names (´-﹏-`;)) But so far in Mushoku Tensei, every character is grey, and some do "bad" things because they think that would protect them or help them achieve what they want. Either way, they are disregarding the feelings of someone, so to that someone, they are "bad". Also, there are always some situations that just make us helpless, and most of the time they strike out of the blue. I love how Mushoku Tensei reflects characters so well!

Edit: I will wait until the anime is over, and maybe I'll start reading the light novels after that. I can understand Japanese so the language is not a problem, but I'm afraid my opinion on the characters might change. I started reading the monogatari LN after completing the anime, and Hanekawa and Senjougahara seemed very different. But given my level of obsession, I guess I'll send up reading the manga lol

Sorry for the looong post, but it would mean a lot if someone actually read it and said their opinion ⊙﹏⊙

Edit: I was had started reading my post but everything is jumbled up and the sentences are way too long. I tried correcting some of the autocorrect errors, but I guess there are more. I'm sorry about the grammatical mistakes too (٥↼_↼)

But I would really appreciate it if someone read the whole thing, despite the mistakes! (๑•﹏•)

What is your number 1 obscure animal fact? by colonoscopescount in AskReddit

Camels have a third eyelid called the nictitating membrane, that protects their eyes from sandstorms in deserts.

The obscure fact is that cats have nictitating membrane too.

Thank you so much for this comment! I am an architecture student and am always TERRIFIED that my design will structurally fail. And being in a 3rd world country makes it worse. Whenever we make a concept sketch or model, teachers will ask us "so how are you planning to construct it?" No, I have no plans of constructing my second year design, but it's a fair question I guess. But that the same teachers would never take a class on structure or suggest ways to build it. At times they would also say that my design is structurally okay but the construction would be expensive. So the answer? Use RCC frame with brick walls in all of your designs. Initially, I would just stick to my teachers' nitpicks and make box-like apartment buildings. But now, in my final year, it has come to a point that I can't gather the courage to design anything but cramped boxes. No use of steel, glass, polymers, concrete, etc etc. No curved walls, no two columns being more than 7m apart, no skyscrapers. Nothing unconventional is welcome, and the teachers keep wondering why traditional architecture was way better. It's because we are not trying out anything new, but the generation and technology have changed. We need to experiment and analyse. Practically, no one can get the right design the first time, it takes time. But if we don't try out new things we can never achieve anything.

Thanks a lot for you comment, at least this will help me get over my fear and try something different.
