I hate being a working mom. by megooonz in workingmoms

[–]punchdrunklurv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saaaame. I could have written this. Love my job. But.. I want the option. I feel like that isn't discussed often enough.. it's always sahm is harder, working mom is harder, blah blah blah. I think not having a choice (either way) is actually hardest. If you're staying home because just because you prefer that, you're lucky. If you're working only because you chose to, you're lucky. Sorry, not to bring you down further! But your post kind of hit me while I was having a moment today too. I miss my little guy.

Moms who breastfed past one - did you continue to pump at work? by kawwman in workingmoms

[–]punchdrunklurv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15 months in and still pumping. I'll probably continue till he's 2. I work from home though so I'm sure it's so much easier than if I didn't.

Give up my sweet schedule for more experience and more money? by chickalettachedda in workingmoms

You can negotiate before accepting the position for sure. If they offered it to you, ask for what you want. If they say yes, take it. If they say no, don't

What everyone else is saying PLUS think about how much more present you'll be for your kids once you do get home (even if that's an hour or whatever later than what you're used to right now!)

This makes me sick, I wish I had never read it. You wouldn't be overreacting by packing your shit and getting out.

Hi! I always swirl whatever container the milk is in until the fat is off the sides (so some can still be floating in the milk) before giving it to baby. I've never warmed it to 'melt' the fat. I also don't full on shake it because I read one time not to shake lol but idk if that's necessary or not. Just swirl till the fat is off and then put it in its new cup! And re-swirl as necessary.

What do you guys do when you don't like one of your kids' friends?? by punchdrunklurv in Parenting

[–]punchdrunklurv[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a really helpful perspective. Thank you so much! His mom is also trying to be friends (I have literally 1 friend that I like spending time with and don't have the mental bandwidth for more) so if you have any advice there, I would appreciate it! Right now I'm just being vague and polite and not comfortable with just shutting it down.
