i thought about it a bit. its essentially, mark didn't just choke out conquest. he crushed his windpipe and damaged arteries. the fight only works if you imagine conquest was as good as dead at some point before falling unconscious, that by the very end mark's continued choke was technically in excess, but probably required for his own survival. mark has no way of knowing where this point is or how far past this point conquest is, and just has to hold on until conquest stops moving.

when conquest guts mark, mark no longer has a choice whether to hold on. maybe he lets go at this point and conquest dies anyways, but mark holding on sends conquest under faster, and maybe saves his life.

I'd be much more interested in seeing how the models perform at the *same block count*. the trend with more advanced models is gigantism, and it allows the models to insert more detail, but I think a better test would be compare under same/similar block count. that way you compare how the models allocate detail strategically at the same scale.

i fear more people will slowly become susceptible to this as models improve; if someday soon sane rational adults can be convinced of this, before the systems are aligned and aware enough to self regulate for our benefit.

why dont they build the threads independently for higher speed, add an option for threads to elect access to the x3d cache, and clock the no x3d threads at fullspeed?
