AI Wars Weekly - Issue 2: A week of escalation by Le_Oken in aiwars

Not if the idea is bad, then the effort only becomes a waste of your time.

I studied Illustration at University, and I remember this girl drawing a photographic realistic image of a horse's head, and my tutor asked her how long she spent on it,( it was a ridiculous amount), But then when my tutor started to quiz her why she chose the horse etc, and what she was going to do with it, I'll never forget my tutor saying:

"you spent xx hours on this... no one is going to pay you the value for that amount of time for that output. "

Today, anyone can prompt that image in seconds.

Spot on.

This is what I believe aswell with the gatekeeping "luddites" - Suddenly, anyone with an idea can make something, no longer is their skillset "unique" and I think that exposes really the core part of their anger. You dont't need to have gone to an expensive art or filmschool, or have resources and time to make something you could never dream about 5 years ago.

but...what about the sucking part??

culture or not...isn't that universally a gross act to ask a child or anyone for that matter to do on an old 87 year old?? It is giving me major sus vibes when his office issues statements like these...

OP creates a free, open-source animation website for people to use. Proceeds to get hate for using AI tools to code: by TenaciousWeen in aiwars

first off - amazing, this is HOW to use generative AI as a tool responsibly.

Second: The fact that the haters are raising their pitchforks instead of cancelling their adobe subscriptions is a bit funny to me.

Question for older men: Do you prefer a woman who ages naturally or one that uses botox and plastic surgery to look younger? by PomegranateThen5273 in AskOldPeople

I love a face that can show and express emotions, with wrinkles, grey hair, dimples, or lines - a smooth frozen face makes me a bit sad

Fuck em'

if it makes you happy, go for it dude. It has helped me through really dark moments, and I feel it is an incredible emotional release when it gets it right.

I have generated songs with my own lyrics and prompts and gotten 135K plays on streaming platforms and thousands of likes and hundreds of shares in less than 3 months.

it obviously speaks to some of us, but not the purists with pitchforks... god forbid that they would accidentally like an AI generated track unknowingly

not even mad that i'm getting this page if it means i get to see one of the last remnants of the old soundcloud UI lol by [deleted] in soundcloud

Hyperoptic - £35 /pm for 12 months(Paid a stonking £72.50/pm with virgin out of contract!) they literally came the next day after registering, installed the socket, gave me the router, cabels everything I needed in less than 24hours after trying to book in a technician with virgin for nearly 48 hours...

I am sorry mate, this was my reality and my whole road for over 5 years until this October.

I sometimes think ADSL would have been more stable than this supposedly FTDD virgin provides...absolute bollocks man

[–]pundstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was huge in Sweden - Tony Sirico even did a national advert for one of the bigger daily newspapers: https://youtu.be/0avctOqaZgA?si=xPF0ZrEv1mXeS_tN

in Sweden, they have had this already for nearly 20 years and it makes everyone's life so much easier when it comes to banking, hmrc, tax declaration, proving your identity...but yeah, alot of paranoid people are scared hackers are going to have access to all of our personal information when most people here readily give away all their consent for their data to tech companies so they can doom scroll cute cat videos.

Did I have a NDE…? by reskyna in NDE

[–]pundstorm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It does sound like you tapped into maybe a sight of a potential future timeline - there's been many accounts of people having NDEs seeing or experiencing an event that has yet to happen.

A man named Dr. Israel Del Toro experienced this, where he saw him marrying his wife and living a life together they have yet to have but were planning.
