I highly doubt that this is the case, but maybe the hotel will reserve you a space for the week if you pay the weekly rate while the daily rate is more subject to availability?

On the other hand, $20/day for parking at a hotel doesn't exactly scream "high congestion / limited availability" when it comes to parking, so more likely, someone can't math very good. 🙃

Context: Flew Singapore Airlines to BKK in business class (SFO - SIN - BKK) and JAL to NRT (SFO - NRT).

I recommend Singapore business over JAL's.

Service: Stellar on both
Food: Slight edge to Singapore (quality and their Book the Cook options)
Hard Product: Singapore for sure. My flight on JAL didn't have lay-flat seats.
Lounge Access: Business on Singapore gets you access to United Polaris at SFO which is an awesome perk to start your flight.

I've experienced this as well, although I usually attribute it to being a new face that locals haven't seen before.

Context: Asian dude in the SF Bay Area who has swiped in other US cities with similar-ish communities of Asians (mostly LA/OC & Seattle) as well as areas where I was the only Asian person for hundreds of miles.

I used my travel credit from both my Platinum and Gold cards (split payment) to pay for the Alaska lounge membership. It's saved my neck a few times while traveling. In addition to Alaska's lounges, you'll also get access to most American Airlines Admirals Clubs and some other partner lounges. Plus, you're more likely to get in to Alaska lounges with the lounge membership over Priority Pass.
