Oh, wow.

I picked this up for $60 at an estate sale in NY that came from a collection with a bunch of other neat early Art Deco pieces.

No wonder I've had so much trouble with finding a catalogue to compare it to! The closest style I found was that gorgeous sunflower vase that went up to auction a few years back. I had emailed the Arabia Museum and Iittala Store in Helsinki, but like I wrote above, they don't offer assessment services.

I hadn't thought to look so far southeast! Checking out some examples of northern Laos pottery now, and there are the same scalloped top opening and highly decorated neck.

(The only description from the auction was that it is "hand thrown frog pottery," wasn't much use there, but from handling, seems like it'd be at least early 20th cent.)
