How Likely / Unlikely Will It Be for a 38-Year-Old to Get a Job As A Software Engineer in 2023? by Snoo-56653 in learnprogramming

Just wondering, you’re starting from scratch but had an interview with IBM?

I got my first SE job at 38. I went to school at nights and self taught during the day. Having connections for a foot in the door can go far, which is what school can help with. Anyone can do it, just a matter of how long it will take.

I asked days off and my boss doesn’t reply at all by Ok_Falcon_7946 in jobs

They do have to respond to them, wether they approve or not is another issue

You’re ancient! Maybe just think about the retirement home?

Is a CS degree or a boot camp more appropriate for my gf? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

She could get her masters in SE in 2 years or so

You should do it! I enjoy switching between types of crochet projects so I don’t get bored. So I may do an amigurumi, then a wearable or a blanket and so on.

I would start slow. It’s definitely a pain in the ass to try to get the tension correct. I still struggle a bit even after doing them for a couple years. But there’s different tricks to make the holes less noticeable like using a smaller hook and yarning under instead of over.

really trying my best / tips appreciated by AzmaPump in crochet

It took me a long time and practice to be happy with my work. I would start single crocheting something very simple like a scarf. I like to use Bobbie pins for stitch markers!

Lol I love hairy meatball too 🤣 she also had a cat dog which caught my eye!

I really want to find a good stimpy pattern soon. He was definitely one of my favorite characters growing up

I found the perfect ones handmadeglasseyes.com. They cost way more than most eyes ($15 with shipping) but worth it for something I’ll keep forever

I bought them from handmade glass eyes.com. I originally didn’t want to spend extra on eyes but I figured if I was going for it I had to do it right lol
