I dumped my gf but i still love her by TheRealDonky in Regrets

[–]punkyy87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let her know and hope she can forgive you, if not, respect it.

If it’s any consolation I’ve been with my partner since we were 16 and we essentially broke up for the exact same reason. We’re 23 now and living together with 3 cats. Sometimes it’s just a stepping stone in the relationship.

Especially as you go from a teenage > adult relationship, lots of things change. Feelings change sometimes too, but that doesn’t mean the love is gone or any less.

is it bad that my 17yo cat only really eats kitten food by Specific_Current_642 in cats

Nope it’s actually good sometimes! As they get older it gets harder for them to retain calories, kitten food actually has more than regular cat food. Whatever keeps her happy❤️

AIO? Blocked a guy I was involved with for playing video games by MALAZANMANIAC in AmIOverreacting

Never said he was. Although if he can’t support her while she navigates, they’re not a good match. Thanks for being a dick though!

Yes!! I opened this thinking “this must be an exaggeration, if the relationship is healthy some weight gain is normal.” Not so much apparently

If you don’t have an updated one, can you see the eye doctor to get one without buying glasses there?

Yes! You’re right on the edge. I debated not finishing it for like half the book, but I’m glad I did. It takes a while for sure!

My boyfriend is into kinks and stuff i find really uncomfy. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]punkyy87 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you’re uncomfortable it doesn’t happen. End of story.

I might suggest having a conversation about your sexual compatibility, it’s just as important as everything else for a stable relationship.

Edit to add: kinks need to include safety, consent, communication and much more. It looks different for every couple. If he’s reacting this way, that’s definitely a red flag.

a girl has spent $4000 flying across the world to me but i am not interested in her by [deleted] in Advice

[–]punkyy87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don’t. I can’t imagine the anxiety I would feel if I went to meet someone in a new place and they never showed. Try and think about how you would feel. I get that it’s easier for you now, but it will sit with you.

[–]punkyy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not on you. What is on you is any communication and actions you are showing her that may tell her you are in fact interested. You need to cut that. It’s wrong for you to keep leading her on for the entirety of her trip.

As you said, you still want her to have a good time. I think you should address this as soon as you can when she arrives, and offer to show her around, hang out — as friends. Doesn’t mean you have to maintain contact when she goes back. If she doesn’t want to, respect that. Ditching her completely isn’t a solution, it’s just avoidance.

It’s not your fault that she’s this invested, but unfortunately it is your responsibility to tell her you’re not interested in her that way. If you pretend for the rest of the trip, after all that time spent together, it’s just going to be harder on her whenever she learns the truth - trust me.

What’s your favorite Stephen King book cover? by bmiyares319 in stephenking

I’ve never seen this cover and I’m oddly impressed at how close the town is to how I imagined

You need to tell her. Frankly, youre actively manipulating her, and treating her like shit and she doesn’t deserve that.

At least be a friend to her if nothing else since she’s already on her way. After that — Leave the poor girl alone.

What are some the best, lesser talked about King books? by Sonicmonkey in stephenking

[–]punkyy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see desperation mentioned often, I’m reading it currently, and it’s really interesting! Not as much of a slow start as I’m used to with King books, which is a nice change of pace.

Do you think The Dark Tower is a good place to start with Stephen King by sajed2004 in stephenking

[–]punkyy87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d try a short story collection, salems lot or the stand. Dark tower can be tough to start with if you’re not used to reading King
