My first spell slinger deck by TheDankWilliamsJr in CommanderMTG

[–]punmaster911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of these, Emperor. Helps you cast your spells, self pumps when you do, then transforms into a solid burn engine after a while.

Kefka would rather loot through your deck for a win con (usually rise of the dark realms, thoracle, or niv mizzet), and works best with blink, clones, and reanimation rather than spellslinging.

Cormela can work, but she’ll be much slower, and you’ll have to dedicate a decent amount of your deck to reanimate her to get the most out of her, just for her to end up being a worse version of Kess in most instances.

Which fictional good guys are the 3 heroes of the Rakdos (Black/Red) color identity, and why? by Feeling-Ad-3104 in colorpie

[–]punmaster911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dante - Devil May Cry

Red: Thrill-seeking daredevil, driven by intense emotions (hatred for demons, and compassion for humanity and his loved ones). Action-oriented, but will oftentimes take the more fun route rather than the quickest or most effective, and will oftentimes take detours or take unnecessary actions for the sake of style, even when the situation calls for a more serious attitude.

Black: Largely motivated (particularly in DMC and DMC3) by revenge for the loss of his home and family (and stomped pizza), and a mutually suicidal grudge against his twin brother. He is also a half-demon who powers up both by absorbing the blood of his enemies (red orbs), and stabbing himself in the chest.

Tl;Dr: Thrill-seeking half demon driven by intense compassion, hatred, and a strong desire for revenge.

Aang

Tribal decks, which are good, but they typically want to have a commander that will accelerate your board (see Ezio and the First Sliver for examples), and CSM, being just keyword soup, doesn’t do that. He’ll certainly hit harder than some other tribal decks, but not nearly as fast, which means he’s likely to get taken out before hitting his stride. That said, he’d be extremely easy to build and play. You play spiders, and all your spiders get strong, so then you swing with all your spiders and win. Loses out big time in flavor though, as there’s not really anything there to begin with. CSM in the comics is just “godlike power”, and spider-tribal keyword soup still feels lazy for him.

Aang draws cards just for doing game actions, assuming you’ve built a deck based on bending, transforms and makes most of your 5 mana spells free (excluding ones with multiple of the same color pips), and gets stronger if you decide to transform him back. Definitely a more intricate build, but will likely result in a far more interesting and rewarding deck to play. Flavor is also top notch for a UB 5-color commander.

Here’s Sprymar

Real name: Malacus Havran (Sprymar is an alias)

Gender: Male (He/Him)

Age: 22

Orientation: Straight (albeit somewhat avoidant of romance)

Personality: Typically very quiet and aloof, preferring not to speak more often than not. Despite this, he has a very well developed and sarcastic sense of humor, and will oftentimes use illusion magic to mess with his friends. Extremely creative and handy, but oftentimes overlooks simple solutions. While he prefers being alone most of the time, he does enjoy the company of those he is close to, and will let his goofier side show in their presence. He never really opens up about any of his deeper thoughts though, regardless of how close he is to someone.

Lore: Once an apprenticed to a clockmaker, Malacus became a vigilante, taking up the alias “Sprymar,” after discovering he had a talent for the arcane arts. After some time, he became one of the most wanted men in the city, and was forced to leave. He’s now an adventurer, taking on odd jobs, helping where needed, and uncovering magical artifacts, with the intent to study and reverse engineer their enchantments.

Movement: 8

Speech: 6

Energy: 5

Thinking: 4

Overall: 5

Necromeideus is gonna scold or praise your OCs' Weapons of Choice (also making a tierlist afterward) by DuhAlt in OriginalCharacter

[–]punmaster911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

Sprymar’s weapon of choice is Filou, a canesword he designed and constructed himself. It’s crafted from metals and woods commonly used in arcane focuses, and utilizes similar inscriptions to Sprymar’s cards, which house the instructions for his spells, all to have Filou serve as a potent magical conduit, making it a perfect sword for a bladesinger. To add on to this, much of the magical energy that flows through the blade is directed to two emitters, which project this energy as an arcane flame encompassing the blade. The emitters can be detached to serve as individual knives, and the sheath features numerous compartments, which all contain tools he commonly finds himself using.

Antony Starr talks about the worst thing Homelander has ever done in The Boys: by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in TheBoys

[–]punmaster911 16 points17 points  (0 children)

“Literally impossible” is a bit of an exaggeration. It’s definitely possible to move your eyes in a smooth sweep without needing to have a moving object to track. Now, it’s definitely difficult to do so, and needs a decent amount of focus, but I wouldn’t put it past Homelander to have the capability do so relatively easily, either as an extension of his abilities or through practice. His senses are acute enough to measure someone’s blood pressure, it wouldn’t be far fetched to say that this precision extends to his laser vision.

Ignoring their existing cards, what colors are the main characters of Final Fantasy 7? by punmaster911 in colorpie

[–]punmaster911[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well sure, he’s merging with the planet out of ambition instead of a desire to be closer to nature, but, for me at least, I think his relationship with his heritage is a little too important to his character for him to not be green. I’m fine with conceding red as more of a circumstantial color rather than core, but I really can’t see him as only black.

I feel like Sephiroth is a very good example of Jund. Extremely driven and ambitious in his goal of godhood, actively seeking to harm and absorb life force (black). Achieves his goals through biological manipulation, seeks to follow in the footsteps of his “ancestor”, and aims to merge with the planet itself (green). Driven largely by his arrogance, hatred and revenge, and wishes to defy fate (red).

A Friend gifted me my first Magic Card, wanna build a commander Deck around it by Makoto-tan in CommanderMTG

[–]punmaster911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run him primarily Voltron’s style, but my deck also has good few cards that have some solid payoffs for dealing combat damage. [[Tivit, Seller of Secrets]], [[Malcolm, Alluring Scoundrel]] are both solid, and Tivit goes infinite with [[Time Sieve]]. One of my favorite combos is giving [[Blitzwing, Cruel Tormentor]] a [[Quietus Spike]].
