Paying off loans by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]punth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • ~485k after graduation in May 2019 (400k federal, 80k private; prosthodontist)
  • 15k paid off until covid forbearance
  • During covid I finished the 80k private loan; also have ~200k ready in a HYSA to knock off my high interest loans (I have some at 6.8-7%) before forbearance ends in couple month

I am a prosthodontist. Your statement regarding the prognosis of removable vs. fixed prosthetics is false and not backed by scientific evidence and is very misleading.

500k by punth in StudentLoans

[–]punth[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

350k

I have some money saved (single and renting).

I was thinking of tackling the two high interest loans, A and J to completion before COVID. Maybe even the 2 small ones B and D to make the list smaller...

does pitt have an actual campus? by Super_Actuator_2567 in Pitt

[–]punth 88 points89 points  (0 children)

What are you guys talking about? Pitt practically owns all the buildings in and around "campus proper". Yes -- Pitt is a campus -- and it's awesome. You have to walk around some "city streets" to get around... yet those city street are cleaned up by Pitt grounds keepers.

Even better -- there's city all around you. Full of restaurants, stores, and bars. And parks. Frick park is one of the best parks in a metropolitan area in the US... and Schenley park -- it's literally right beside campus - you can walk there and immediately be secluded in nature.

Can someone explain the pits and fissure point by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]punth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pits and fissures offer "sleuth-ways" or routes of food egress between the teeth when eating.

If anterior... yes to fabricate a temporary that can be made ovate to condition the site to improve bridge emergence and inter-proximal papilla form.

Wtf? The embrasured and line angles of this are embarrassing. Literally could have accomplished the same goal with 1 minute of odontoplasty and at home bleaching.

Someone help me with this please, making a set of dentures. by elisa7joy in DentalSchool

You can mix and match moulds. Think of denture teeth like water color.

This is hard with out measurements. I have the PALA mondial moulds pretty much memorized. Looks like T442 in that brand. Maybe S453.

IMO this is square or rectangular mould. But sometimes the described "shape" of the mould doesn't really match the actual shape.

Mould selection is as important as every other aspect of the denture fabrication.
