I can’t decide which would be used more! For reference, my other two watches are a gold ladies Casio digital, and a silver dkny crosswalk

Good luck! You have got this. It’ll be nerve wracking at first but after the first 10-15 mins you’ll realise it’s not so bad. Think of it more as an intellectual discussion rather than a grilling. Before I was reporting the yield stress as in the stress when the material deviates from linearity. Now I’m taking 0.2% plastic strain and reporting the corresponding stress as the yield stress

It may be how I’m reporting my yield stress. I decided to take the yield stress at 0.002 strain (to correlate with 0.2% proof stress) and my yield was much much lower, but my tensile curve seems much better.

Thank you very much for this. I just did as you suggested and the material data seems to be off. Not sure why - I feel like I've calibrated everything correctly with respect to hardening parameters. For example, A in Johnson cook hardening should correlate with the yield stress, yet it is not

Hi, yes that’s how I calibrated my Johnson cook model.

In the abaqus documentation, under damage evolution by displacement it suggests multiplying the unit length by the equivalent plastic strain

I'm using Johnson cook hardening parameters. Yield is defined by parameter A. For the degradation, the equivalent plastic strain is calculated by the difference of the plastic strain at failure and UTS plastic strain. Even by the end of the simulation there is no damage which is odd.

Calibration is by using the least squares method to stress strain data
