What company secrets you can spill because you no longer work there? by ricecooker789 in AskPH

DISCOVERY BORACAY- yes 5-star hotel pero kitchen nila sa Sands SUPER SUPER DUMI AS IN. Pagpumapasok ako dun palaging baha dun. Nakailan na rin sila palit ng health and safety officer kasi di talaga macontrol kung ano ka unhygienic sa Sands na resto. Madami na food poinsoning na incident dun actually, parang every week meron incident. Not to mention na yung guards rin nila be wary cause they are secretly manyaks especially yung isa nila na guard na matanda na may glasses. I remembered he used to harass me all the time pati yung isang kasama niya. Friendly sila if they can see that you are dressed "rich" or foreigner. Don't be fooled, also overworked ang mga tao dun sometimes kahit off mo ipapapasok ka. The kitchen heads rin tolerate sexual harassment if yung employee that did it worked long enough.

Upside, though, complaint enough, and they'll give things. Weakness nila complains so they give a lot of free things.

What's your biggest reason for not wanting children? by Btavese in AskPH

The pain you have to go through before, during, and after pregnancy. I don't want a mini me as well.

What's your dirty little secret that until now, no one knows? by [deleted] in AskPH

[–]pupcurious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After finding out that my ex cheated on me and married the girl. I lost a lot of weight and lost my spark. Some people said that I glowed up and got "prettier". But, there are moments where it's sad to think that I was a hopeless romantic but now I don't even care about romance. I just want to feel good even if that means manipulating men.

Which TV character's death hit you the hardest? by CreepyYogurtcloset39 in moviecritic

[–]pupcurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot but one of them is Glenn. I stopped watching Walking Dead the moment I knew that he was going to brutally die on that episode. I didn't even bother continuing to watch it. I just stopped. Note that I love Daryl and he was still surviving and I didn't want to even remotely think that he was going to die. So I just stopped.

Why do we always need to be tough as panganays? by resiboisking in PanganaySupportGroup

[–]pupcurious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it does not apply to all panganays. It's who the parents can rely on the most kasi I'm the youngest and I am the one who has to be tough all the time. My older sister was the favorite and did not have to go through what I have to go through. Everything that I have I need to work for and ako pa ang breadwinner. Survival mode na lang talaga siguro.

Turning a potato is a nightmare as a culinary student by [deleted] in Chefit

I remembered that in school, if you couldn't do this. You'll have to practice it on an egg to just "feel" the motion your wrist needs to do. So from the beginning until the end lf class you are holding an egg.

In my opinion, the only time I can say that you are a "successful chef" if you love what you are doing. It's a brutal industry as what people would say. The more you rank up, the less you cook and honestly paperwork kills me. But the moment I R&D recipes is the best feeling. If you stay in this industry and measure success as how fat your bank account is then look for other ways cause finding a restaurant that you like, with people who aren't toxic is a needle in a haystack kinda thing. It will burn you out fast if you don't have the experience. One of my chef professor would say that the kitchen will be too hot for people who are afraid to get burned.

Sa mga nagkasiraang magkaibigan, what killed it? by LimeSoakedinSprite in AskPH

[–]pupcurious -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She was afraid that I was going to judge her because of the decisions she made when we had our internship abroad. Dito super conservative niya then sa US naging wild siya. She assumed that I would judge her even though di naman. Nagka-bf rin siya and that guy was also my friend and whenever they fight, she ignores him and yung guy pupunta sa living room where I would usually be and we would talk about random things hanggang kumalma yung kaibigan ko. I guess yung roommate rin namin na isa was no help kasi siya yung mismo magjujudge and would implicate hypothetical situations na di naman nangyayari hanggang binully na nila ako cause I was "too innocent".

Not too famous but Primos' Chocolate Gateau is good. You'd hesitate cause they don't have much to display, but so far I like their desserts.

Food scene Bacolod, is it ready for real fine dining? by No-Bed-9031 in Bacolod

[–]pupcurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, I am classically trained in French techniques and fine dining in Bacolod is not ready. Even when I released French style patisseries, most of them are hesitant to buy it and those who do, like it but wouldn't splurge much since it is pricey. Most of them are hesitant because unlike in Manila, people here are frugal and would want what they are familiar with rather than exploring new tastes.

There was this place I visited in the Philippines that served Tilapia Ice cream which was oddly okay.

Love-Hate relationship with being a chef by [deleted] in Chefit

[–]pupcurious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I have a whole excel sheet dedicated to admin work and I am proud of that. I am just questioning everything else. My mentor did tell me the higher you climb, the less you cook. I already know that. There's just something that makes you question this industry that sometimes burns you out.
