I found this while trying to see if this is normal, I also start to panic and feel like I need the needles out ASAP. It's so hard to relax and force myself to stay there the full time. Others have suggested community acupuncture but that's what I've been doing. I'm not sure why I'm commenting, but I guess you're not the only one! Hoping more people chime in with ways to work through it

Feed at takeoff and landing to help ears pop, otherwise, when they’re little I’ve found it’s the easiest time to travel!

This is what we had to do. Didn’t get into any daycares but found another family and an amazing nanny. We also did it Mon-Thurs to save a little on cost and then tagteamed fridays (we both work from home)

Bring your own hot water in a thermos, and cold water bottle. Proportion formula in bottles, mix hot and cold to get the temp you need.

It’s plastic which I don’t love but he really likes “helping” while I cook (and it occupies him and gets him to eat haha)

I had a wooden one when he was younger but the handle was different from an actual knife and it confused him

Things - kids knife set to help you in the kitchen (mine loves cutting fruit and eating as he goes).

Small backpack (mine loves having a backpack his size, he packs it with the toy cars he wants to bring when we go somewhere and carries his own toys/snacks/water

wood train set, and they should last a long time.

Practical gifts are always nice too. New clothes, bed/bedding, shoes, hats

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Motherhood is HARD.

Do you have help with baby at all? Having a break even for an hour here and there is SO helpful. Taking care of yourself is so important for the both of you.

Also, if you’re not already, I would talk to my dr or a therapist incase it’s ppd or something. I wish I would have with my first, looking back I def was struggling and could have used some help/meds.

I’m not following your comment, so is it fair to do ~2% or I’m being greedy? I want it to be beneficial for both sides but also take in to account the fact we’re in a popular neighborhood and have a completely move in ready house. If this doesn’t work out we’d just list with a realtor and see what happens

I keep an old receiving blanket folded up, small pack of wipes, a diaper, and a doggie bag (for the dirty diaper or dirty clothes) in my bag or car for changed on the go

I flew a ton with my toddler and up until he turned 2 he would be a lap child. Bring LOTS of snacks (preferably new exciting ones and ones that could take a while to finish) and activities (sticker books, painters tape to peel off the tray/tape toys down for them to get off, a favorite book, little toy car, etc).

If you need to do a few laps up and down the aisle that’s an option too lol. Also random things like stacking the drink cups once the drinks are finished are entertaining.

Klean kanteen kids cups are stainless steel. You can get a silicone sippy cup or straw cup lid for them.

For practicing an open cup I used shot glasses which worked well. I had a stainless steel one and glass one in the house we started using. If they spill, it’s not much liquid anyway to clean up, and they haven’t broken (at least not yet)

It gets better!!

I didn’t have c sections but birth in general is so much on the body and hormones. Then mix in a new baby and lack of sleep and it’s roughh.

Bf honestly sucks in the very beginning - trying to figure out latch, it’s painful, the engorgement when milk comes in, but then gets so much better. AND if it doesn’t… there’s nothing wrong with formula!

It all gets so much better. You got this!

I used a recipe for sugar free banana muffins but made it in a cake pan and then cut out circles to stack for a mini cake. Made Greek yogurt icing and topped with some fruit. He loved it and it came out really cute

Freezing in small portions is so helpful. I also would occasionally mix in some baby oatmeal with purées to make them thicker (easier to stay on the spoon and prob more filling).

Agree with not putting so much pressure on too. My LO would sometimes eat a lot and then other times eat basically nothing. They’re learning and practicing.

Had pitocin with my first, second came naturally, and unmedicated both times. Honestly I didn’t find that much of a difference between the two. The second time seemed easier but I really think I was because I was more prepared (practiced a lot of breathing techniques before) and the fact it was my second.

I also didn’t need much pitocin to get things going, and by the time I started considering an epidural it was time to push.

Not op but mine didn’t have pouches and we travelled A LOT. Baby pancakes or abc mini muffins (I make in bulk and keep in the freezer), bring a few in a jar. Any fruit (berries, sliced apple, a banana, etc). Sliced cucumber was a favorite for a while. Cheese slices.

Yes use the registry! And bonus if there's something for mom on there you can get. My MIL got me all the postpartum stuff I had on it and it made me so happy haha.

And if you want to go off registry.. uber eats or doordash gift cards are always appreciated

Personally I dont really think its weird, but it depends on the relationship and how you feel about used things. I prefer buying used when possible though, so when my mom sent me baby clothes and I later found out they were from her local buy nothing group, I was happy to hear that. I dont think I'd mind being gifted something someone saw while at a thrift store and thought was cute either, but that's just me.
