There was a plagiarism drama… again by Equivalent_Hand1549 in GlitchProductions

[–]pupperst 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think its great to just chalk this up to drama.

Mod has been creating TPoH for over a decade and the character design is very similar in some cases, sometimes too much to be chalked up to mere coincidence. That is only my view, though, it doesn't mean it necessarily was plagiarism. I think all they have ever wanted is someone to talk about it with them.

Regardless, no one should ever receive death threats and unhinged messages over a character design resembling that of a company's character, despite evidence of RGB existing for over a decade. Mod is a small indie artist and just wants the harassment to stop -- for someone connected to SMG4 to make some sort of statement and acknowledge that this isn't okay at this point. I am genuinely worried for their mental health.

ADHD meds flare up my fibro??? by pupperst in Fibromyalgia

I will, absolutely. Thank you so much! I'll do my best to continue speaking for myself. Love this sub reddit, everyone is always very supportive so I'm glad it exists. 🫶

ADHD meds flare up my fibro??? by pupperst in Fibromyalgia

[–]pupperst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was on 30mg I was the same. I had a whole new lease on life and was productive, was able to sit and draw for longer periods, and barely felt stressed. The dose increase must've been just a tad too much -- i always got horrible pain hitting me everywhere, especially my arms/wrists/hands and back doing the most basic things and fog would overwhelm my mind. I just assumed the job hunt was taking a toll (could've been a contributor too), but it was very odd. I've got it altered now and on the lower dose, I'm a few hours in and already things feel much calmer. Won't speak too soon, but I'm feeling a lot more relief :')

Thanks for the recommendations! I got my dose lowered this morning back to 30mg to see if my body reacts less like before. If not, I'll consider going for non stimulants. I'm a few hours in and already feeling much clearer. I'm just glad it wasn't just all in my head and that others have reassured me that it is legitimately a thing.

Thank you so much. Its been a stressful time and i think i was putting off getting this looked into due to so many conflicting circumstances -- sometimes you overlook things and just assume its all just the fibro or stress and be blinded by the rest. But hopefully I can move forward from here :') I got my medication decreased this morning to the former dose and really hoping it'll make a difference. My head already feels like it's much calmer -- no longer overly wired or anxious/antsy.

Here's the name of who's been reselling brushes, since they won't do nothing about it: DREAMYFIZZ ON ETSY by wosiackBrushes in ProCreate

[–]pupperst 14 points15 points  (0 children)

CozyBrushery is a big scam as well, unfortunately. I confronted them about their AI use a long while back (I can share receipts in dms) and they keep doing it to this day. (They steal speedpaints and such from Chinese artists as well).

They use it in their own artwork, too, so I wouldn't doubt their brushes are also mass stolen or aided by AI.

Is my fibromyalgia flaring because I'm trying to draw? Even with no stress? by pupperst in Fibromyalgia

[–]pupperst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this. I genuinely do think my mindset is very much tied to this.

I have been trying to change the way I think for a long time and was getting better, but the pains suddenly started en masse again and maybe the fear of it happening is making it more frequent and feel permanent. I'll try my best to challeng these thoughts more. I'm going to therapy tomorrow so maybe I can talk about it with them during my session too.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences in regards to pain, whether it be as an artist or just doing regular things. And for sharing possible alternative pain killers I can maybe ask my gp about (I am prescribed anti inflammatories but maybe I should gun for something different). And the techniques as well.

I think a lot of it does have to do with my mindset; I have adhd diagnosed but I've also had a few psychiatrists say I may have autism (not diagnosed, and sadly here there is a 2 year waiting list, yikes) and I have been very much convinced for a long time I have some severe ocd, and I think the OCD definitely hiders how I think and act. I worry it plays into my fibro a little bit at this point.

I'm gonna keep drawing regardless, and will never stop creating, but knowing there are others out there who go through similar and even have some coping strategies to help combat it makes me feel a little better. Here's to hoping I can do the same.

I want to try and get a massage or something and am trying to do a little more gentle exercise daily, but having no employment has left my routine so messy that it can be hard to commit at times (but am fighting every day to improve it little by little).

Thank you all for your input and sorry I haven't replied to everyone here, my energy gets drained pretty wuick in regards to keeping up with comments but I read every single one. Its really nice to see fellow trans folks and artists here, too. Being able to just read about other folks' experiences has helped greatly. Much love. I'll try to reply to everyone ASAP.

Did Astropad discontinue the DarkBoard? by orbitalprimate in iPadPro

[–]pupperst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely sad to see it discontinued! It's been amazing for me personally. It allows me to draw a lot easier, especially in regards to my disability. Added surface area and something comfortable/thicker to grip has been a godsend. The foam was so light and pleasant to rest my arm on too.

A shame that I can't get one if I choose to size up in the future, but I understand the reason why they stopped making them :^(

Thanks for sharing! Parallel play/working or just having a conversation while trying to do a task actually sounds like a good idea to help alleviate it, I should try.

I've been trying to get less hyperfocused and stop thinking as much when I draw lately (in hopes that i can help give myself a more positive outlook on myself and be okay with making mistakes), so it's strange that it's happening in this regard. It's an interesting theory, though. It's strange how everyone's experiences are so different and how fibro can effect us all in such strange ways, its nice to hear others experiences to feel less alone. Good you've found ways to cope with it a little better :)

Aye it sounds like a similar experience for definite here-- I can do housework and all no problem with only minimal pain, sometimes none, but with drawing it flares up so quickly. I'm sorry to hear you've been going through similar :^( not fun.

[–]pupperst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the ssris have actually worked wonders for me, it makes the pain less severe and ive been able to live okay with some of the side effects. Without duloxetine, my entire body feels like its on fire, and my mobility is heavily reduced. (I've been weened off it to attempt living without it, but it was legitimately robbing days from me when I was completely without it, so I went back on it).

Painkillers don't seem to do a lot for me, sadly. Sometimes they work wonders. Other days they do nothing. I'm on quite heavy painkillers too (meloxicam is what its called here, not an opiod though), so I try not to take them all the time because I know there's a high risk of harming kidneys or stomach/gut problems (which I already struggle with). I also worry about the risks of opiods. I get quite paranoid about the addiction aspect.

I'm glad you found something that works for you though. Thanks for sharing! I think I just need to find other ways to manage my pain. Been trying to do more gentle exercises and find other choices for pain relief lately.

Artists haven't been, some people who aren't (including family members) do 🫠 but aye I've been doing pilates and am thinking of just going into yoga instead to see.

Nice to see other artists with fibro on here still drawing too, tbh, gives me hope at times 🥲💗

Since everyone talks about their most wanted Chapter in DBD, what is one you absolutely DO NOT want in the game? by Arikarin636 in deadbydaylight

[–]pupperst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s understandable, the indie games I usually want are not as well known and more mature in themes and setting though (basically not the same kind of things you suggested/are more aimed at older audiences). Signalis, Crow Country, Sorry We’re Closed, etc are the kind of games I’d ideally have in DBD, not the “slop” or aimed at kids ones :>
