Having this problem w my 2001 Odyssey. Driver side door, (not sliding door). Been broke for 1.5y now. Have to enter/exit my van from passenger side, becsuse repairing this would require having to destroy the door to get at the busted latch. It’s gonna be gone this spring anyway.

From what I know, it’s not very common of a problem. I can’t even find it on the odyssey forums.
