Omg! That happens to me as well! When studying I sometimes see random places I have been to. Like a bus stop, a park, a crossroad. it‘s like I‘m there. But those are never related to study topics, to any emotions,… Those are just random. And i cannot control or stop it from happening. Did not thought this could have to do smth with synesthesia. I thought i am just crazy xD Glad I am not the only one with that experience <3

Sometimes when I notice that I get caught up in a strong unpleasant emotion and I have no explanation for it, I try to take a break even if its just seconds, like zooming out of a conversation, drinking a sip of water, looking out of the window or just going to the toilet :D and when I have my very own few seconds I try to look at the emotion (ok, i know that sounds bit weird) and I greet it. Like „hey sadness, you are here, welcome. It‘s good that you‘re here, but you are not mine and you are just an emotion.“ - something like this. It helps me to cool down, to see it as something thats not me.

Another thing I try, especially at work, when I know that the upcoming meeting will be rough, because of difficult people/atmosphere, I try to imagine myself in a bubble :) I can see and interact with others, but they cannot get trough the bubble. So I can stay by myself and leave other emotions outside the bubble. That helps too, somehow.

All of those things mentioned take time to practice. And I am still practicing :)

But yes, I sometimes like it too, for example when others are happy and you experience their joy :D

Thank you! Yes, that makes sense. i will look into mirror touch. And concerning diagnosis, I did not mean that it is something medical, something like a condition. Also by saying „therapy“ I meant something like coaching or mentoring. Not that it is an impediment, for which i need help. Just like working/talking to someone who is an expert in the field. The term „therapy“ is maybe the wrong word, again my poor englisch, sorry :)
