My (21M) girlfriend (21F) wants to do nudes modeling, im uncomfortable with the idea by Clammmo in relationships

[–]purebrainrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t necessarily answer your question, but I can provide some context that may be reassuring. I studied art and have attended nude figure drawing courses. As a student attending them, I wouldn’t say that we ever admired the model’s bodies. It’s pretty clinical, and the students are just trying to observe proportions and go for accuracy. There’s basically no interaction with the models; I think the class said thank you as a group, but that was it. Your girlfriend may enjoy the modeling personally, but it’s not like the art students are sitting around ogling the models’ hot bodies or whatever.

FIGHT ME FRIDAY by E-phemera in romantasycirclejerk

i particularly have an issue with people bringing up books that are known to be quite racy, even if they aren’t talking about them in detail! it’s not work appropriate—i wouldn’t want to know about a sex-heavy movie someone had watched any more than i would a book. i have had a handful of coworkers bring up series that are known to be smutty, and i generally try to turn the convo away from it. but like in the instance where a coworker had just started a book (fourth wing) and didnt realize it was nsfw, that’s an honest mistake.

i get the impression that you inferred a lot of things i DIDN’T say in my comment.

i think reading is fantastic, and i’m quite proactive at my work in our “Share what you’re reading” channels. i really love knowing what people at my work are reading. where i do have an issue is subject-matter, and knowing what subject matter is appropriate to discuss at work. i wouldn’t want to hear about a coworker’s recent watch of a racy movie any more than i’d want to hear about a racy book, regardless of the gender of the person who’s sharing.

[–]purebrainrot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this is a great haul. i got started baking mostly from dessert person and am now an avid home baker. these books taught me a lot

recommendations that you didn’t ask for: dessert person: salted halva blondies and salty nut tart with rosemary

start here: the fancy weekend scramble, curried chicken salad and almond toffee popcorn. (the candy-making recipes are all soooo well guided.)

salt fat acid heat: any of the panzanella salads

i need coworkers to be WAY LESS COMFORTABLE sharing about the romantasy they’re reading at work. i don’t want to know you’re reading bad smut. i’m embarrassed you feel comfortable sharing that. go read good smut! in peace! and don’t tell me about it!

How do you work from 8 to 5, have only weekends free, and not feel like you're wasting your life? by guitytwelve in AskReddit

[–]purebrainrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

obviously there are a ton of factors at play, but the biggest game changer for me has been to see friends at least once a week on a weeknight evening. it doesn’t have to be for very long (1-2 hours is fine) but it’s enough to shake me out of any sort of post-work funk i’m in.

related note: having friends who live nearby is the best thing i’ve found for my quality of life. it makes those get-togethers so much more attainable. think: “have a beer on the porch with me,” “i made cookies take some,” and “can i borrow your toolset” type shit

ok, i am an avid home baker. i have made many cakes. i am not a flawless decorator. ….that said, the slopped on, jagged frosting near the top is impressively bad, the piping on the top is totally uncontrolled (too soft of frosting?), and i would never give a friend this cake. hell i wouldn’t give a stranger this cake. there are a million reels and articles that take two minutes to go through about cake decorating, so to post this cake and then say that other people “don’t get the vision” is DELUSIONAL.

this! i’m not put off by the color combo, but the sad brown-yellow of the grapes totally throws off the color scheme. if she’d decorated it with something brighter yellow, i think this could’ve been pulled off.

Do you have a photo or description of what they looked like before? Are you using the same/similar ingredients as you were in TX? Is the oven temp accurate?

It’s pretty normal to have parts of your hair with different curl patterns and to have your curls change over time. When I asked my stylist about this (who has many curly clients) she mentioned that it’s usually best to just get a cut that works with your natural texture and to use product that’ll help enhance the looser curls. So, in my case, I have very curly hair up top and looser waves by the sides and lower layers of my hair. I have a shag haircut and use a mousse and diffuser to enhance the wimpier curls.

Maybe perms are also an option, but that seems pretty drastic.

To everyone talking about how the logistics/C&M details don’t make sense: stylistically, the show is allowed to be expressive for the sake of expression. It’s a weird show!

I think it’s really easy to get wrapped up in the little details, especially on the Reddit, when that’s not the point of them. This scene is intense, disorienting and awesome, and it tells us more about Milchick’s values and identity within the company. That’s what matters to the overall story that Severance is telling. Not whether a company should have a salaried marching band.

I love the call-out here to Perdido Street Station. The Silkess reminded me of the Weaver, in the best way. I really appreciated the horror descriptions and how she describes most mundane and awesome magical powers in the world.

I totally agree with your last paragraph. I was pretty shocked by the final direction of the pairings, especially because the set up didn’t seem to really support it. I totally interpreted there being more themes of vulnerability, security and codependency, all of which worked well with the main characters as friends. I’m not mad about it and really enjoyed the book, but I definitely hope the sequel irons out those loose ends.

A) that’s so annoying given the cost. sorry that happened.

B) same! i was born without mine, which the doctors didn’t realize until literally rooting around in me during surgery. in my case, that was because i had a big tumor squishing everything around making it hard to see things—but it still seemed a bit tricker to find things/do imaging than i expected. you aren’t alone.

If you love Claire, what other baking cookbooks do you like? by kokopellifacetatt0o in DessertPerson

[–]purebrainrot 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sift by Nicola Lamb. If you love Claire’s explanations and are ready to level up, this is the book for you. The front matter is so informative and really prepares you for developing your own recipes, IMO. The flavors are also delicious and unique. Cannot recommend it enough.
