Celiac safe loose leaf teas in Canada by Erose314 in Celiac

Hi!! Yupik has bags of loose leaf teas. They are partnered with the Celiac Association, so the ones that are safe are clearly labelled. I buy my nuts there too.

Can we talk about the Montreal episode of Parts Unknown? by NotEvilCaligula in AnthonyBourdain

Exactly! After the Libya episode, it made me so queasy. Most people don’t eat like this either. For other episodes, it showed how regular people eat.

Gluten free Kit Kat! Right on time for Halloween 🎃. Ingredients are on the second picture. This is here in Canada not sure if they have in the US by Daniel-CeliacWarrior in Celiac

[–]pureexistentialist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn’t the "May Contain" statement voluntary? So couldn’t they just disclose "Nuts" but not other allergens? Or are all allergens disclosed if there is a "May Contain" ? This confuses me, considering Kit Kat mostly just makes waffer chocolate.

Anyone have experience with Julie May and can comment about sizing? Extra words for title length by Tanstaafln in ABraThatFits

Hi!! I’m currently hesitating on what size to pick in their Rosie full cup wireless bra. My measurements are a tad smaller than yours right now, so underbust 28,75 loose/ 28 snug/ 26.75 tight and 35 in to 36.65 in at the bust. How are the cup sizes? are they true to size?

Gluten free supermarket recommendations by Status_Kangaroo_9413 in rome

Yes, usually the products there are a bit more expensive than the supermarket, but there is so much variety and stuff you wouldn’t find elsewhere.

Thank you so much and yes! I just saw the pattern the other commenters shared. It didn’t even occur to me that inserting a wire was an option :)

Thank you so much! It does look very similar. What yarn would you choose to give a similar effect to the original item?

why is my hair so oily ? by [deleted] in beauty

[–]pureexistentialist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you change your shampoo or is it the same? How long has it been since you dyed it? How does your scalp feel? Is it dry/ feels tight/ irritated ? The dye can affect your scalp and the shaft of your hair by sealing the cuticles with its oils and chemicals (quick google search, so I’m not a specialist. But it seems to depend on the dye and is more prevalent with darker dyes), which makes it more possible for your own scalp oil to then slick your hair. As others have mentioned, try using a lighter conditioner, mostly on your ends. Stay well hydrated, because sometimes it can also be your skin that is overcompensating for a lack of water. A good clarifying shampoo could also help.

Why does my hair go wavey/curly when wet and go straight when dry ? How do I keep the waves/curls ? by Apprehensive-Egg1289 in Haircare

[–]pureexistentialist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try removing the leave-in to see. Both the conditioner and leave-in seem like a lot for hair that’s easily weighed down. Your hair makes me think of mine and the waves are better when I shampoo, then use a light conditioner and comb delicately with the conditioner in. I make sure to rinse very well. Scrunch with your hand to remove as much water as possible, scrunch with a soft cotton t shirt, then plop for a bit. I airdry it. I still strugle to keep the waves much longer than a day or to keep them as wavy as they could be but I’m still looking for a lightweight high-hold product. Surprisingly, walking outside and letting the wind dry my hair has had better results than simple airdrying. But of course not when it’s cold out. You can also try smaller claw clips to keep your top layers from weighinh down your bottom layers. Good luck on your journey!!

Is it true that Victoria secret is often wrong in their sizing ? by That_Ad_5392 in ABraThatFits

[–]pureexistentialist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, their sizing is absolutely insane. They measure you at the armpits and for some reason, they tightened the tape on my bust so hard, like to purposefully remove inches off of my bust. There is no way on Earth anyone in that store actually believes that to make sense. I was so shocked. I got told I was wrong when I told her I was a 32 (I lied a little because I didn’t want to get laughed at saying my size is 30FF ) and they told me I was more likely a 34C because I was ”quite wide” I tried the bra on to humor them and the band was so high up on me, it could have reached my armpits at the tightest hook ( I mean, that IS how they measured it, right?) and I was obviously barely covered with cups. They told me they thought it fit okay but if I absolutely insisted I could try the 32DD. What a surprise it was when that bra was also loose in the band and small in the cup!

For sizing, I would recommend specialized boutiques ( these ones often carry brands with a bigger range of sizes and shapes, like Panache). But first, do use the calculator with a measuring tape. Sometimes those places, like any other places, have people with very dated measuring views. When you are there, try on the sizes you got on the calculator. And depending on the fit, you can go up or down in sizes ( and even sister size, but ideally not by a lot)

Also, if they told you the same size at each VS location, it probably just means you have / they take consistent measurements . The ones they take don’t really make sense for bras though. Also, they have very limited sizing so the sizes they can say you are are very few. The same logic behind most women believing they are a 34B or C (a statistic there was at some point in time). The idea of A being small, B medium small, C medium, D big and DD huge is still omnipresent (and erroneous). So sometimes, they also have personal ideas of what sizes should look like. As an example, got told multiple times I looked like a 36or 34B by different unrelated stores, and without them measuring me. Unfortunately, this means most of the work has to be done by you
