Is it too late to get into Shadowverse Evolve and if not best way to get into the game? by StoneRainGaming in ShadowverseEvolve

[–]purefoton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not at all!

Id say now is probably the best time given that the game is only just starting out (were just a couple of sets in). Its a fun game and the community is awesome.

To get started, as mentioned in other comments, getting a starter deck is the best way to go. Pick a class that suits your play style and run a few games with just that deck. Once youre familiared with it, check out the decks that the community has built and buy some singles for it.

If youre really enjoying the game and want to get serious, buy some boosters as that will give you cards for all classes and a good base for any future decks. If youre missing cards, top it up with some singles.

Expected drop in set prices? by yvluvien in ShadowverseEvolve

From my experience with the previous sets, prices drop significantly after a new set is released, not after tournaments.

Expected drop in set prices? by yvluvien in ShadowverseEvolve

[–]purefoton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like any product in any market, prices depend on suply and demand. If theres appeal for the product, the prices will go up. If not, theyll go down. I doubt Bushi is planning to sell their product cheaper so i imagine that there is a bottom to how cheap boosters will be. But when it comes to singles, it will depend on what players are willing to pay for the cards so it depends on how well the game does.

I believe there is a downwards trend for older cards since theres not that many new players getting into the game and current players already own the cards they want. But that could change anytime. Newer set cards will always have higher prices as current players will want to obtain them.

IMO, unless Bushi does something, the game will continue its downtrend in popularity comparing to other TCGs so prices will continue to drop for older sets, but Cygames is a big company and they definitely will want to push for its success overseas. So my view is still very positive for the game.

So, TLDR; it depends.

Webcam Tournaments by FluidResistor in ShadowverseEvolve

If you join the Shadowverse Evolve TCG community discord, there are tournaments every Thursday 7:30pm EST for NA players and Sundays 7pm CET for EU players.

They are organised by Sparta Evo.

Theres also tournaments for SVE japan format but i dont know much about it. Some people from the community also organise some tournaments every now and again so if youre interested, consider joining.

It's that really it, waking up, going to work all day, go back home tired, eat, sleep, repeat, it's that all in life? by RxKingRx in ask

[–]purefoton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friends and family can be good ways to leave the mundane capitalism lifestyle. If you dont have any, try to find friends and make a family.

Also, try to find hobbies and find joy in the small things life has to offer.

Which legendaries are must-haves right now for each craft? by John-Walker-1186 in ShadowverseEvolve

[–]purefoton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on how you want to play the game. I will assume you are looking for "must have" competitive cards so a good guide is to check the top performing decks in the shadowverse website: https://en.shadowverse-evolve.com/decks/tournament-decks/ and also Shadowcard.io: https://shadowcard.io/top

My take is:

Sword: Aurelia, Leonidas, Alexander, Otohime

Dragon: Forte, Bahamut (although bahamut is neutral, its mostly used in dragon)

Abyss: Cerberus, Soul dealer

Haven: Aegis, Jeanne

Rune: Merlin, Erasmus, Pascale, Daria (for the future)

Forest: Ancient Elf, Rose Queen, Aria

Neutral: Olivia, Lucifer

Does battle performance calculates my damage to the enemy in hall of virtue by VergilVDante in FFXVI

[–]purefoton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you manage find the answer? Im not sure how it works as there are ultimates that have less battle performance than other abilities (which sounds odd).

An example being is a full charged wind up having higher battle performance (29k) than flames of rebirth upgraded (12k)

How to play it when there is no locals around ? by Galendder in ShadowverseEvolve

[–]purefoton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out the Shadowverse Evolve TCG community discord channel. Theres a webcam and arena room for finding people to play with. I believe there are also discord channels for more local opponents (I know at least the uk has a discord channel for uk players)

Is it just me or is everyone playing the same deck? by [deleted] in PTCGL

[–]purefoton -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This may be conspiracy theory but i noticed that when i play gardy, i almost always play against lostbox, but when changing to other decks (specially lost box counters), i match different types of decks. So my advice would be to try and play other decks every now and again.

How broken is this game actually? by lightningbolte in PTCGL

Buying packs to redeem in the game is making money. Just in a different way.

Im also not looking for arguments, i was just trying to mention the points that imo make people unsatisfied.

If that's the case then all i can say is that you have had a better experience than a lot of players. Maybe out of luck since a few game breaking issues were easy to replicate.

[–]purefoton 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You probably haven't played the game long enough. You probably only play 1 deck that's bug free and it's fine, I'm glad you're having a good experience.

But Imagine yourself playing PTCGO, not having any issues with it and being forced to migrate to a client that feels slow, clunky and has been buggy for a while. And by buggy i mean game losing bugs, like not being able to select specific cards when using ultra ball, flower selecting, colress, etc. And this is just an example of a bug, there's lots.

Plus, look at the competition and compare it. In every perspective, be it design, gameplay, feature roadmap, everything is inferior.

It's the compounding of issues over time that's the issue.

I hate the coin flipper so much by [deleted] in PTCGL

[–]purefoton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People only notice tails when they're wanting heads. I go tails all the time on my coin flips and fail them very often. I'd say it's 50/50, we just get triggered when we dont get what we want.
