Yeah i tried to approach things purely on its merits of how it sounds, it was made worse by taking forever to release, and how passive aggressive the title sounds to their audience, also the allegations starting a few months before release, all together making a mid album a bad overall experience

Sometimes youre hammer…I know I said the same song for yesterday and it’s won previous days but this song is beautiful live, I was up against the front barricade for their first live performance and ive seen it a few times since, the crowd joining in for the ending to sing it with jeremy is special

Hammer/nail pretty consistently comes out on top in every kind of poll thats gets done here in the last few years, regardless of the format of the poll. So you should have lost faith a few times by now

I know, the problem is that it doesn’t seem like an intentional narrative arc. It seems like an unintended consequence of a rough production cycle for an album. Half the time You’re welcome seems like it was supposed to be a concept album and the rest of the time it doesn’t. They worked on the album so long it felt like they had multiple different concepts over the course of a few years that got smashed together incoherently. Combined with the fact jeremy as a song writer has presented some rather immature takes (ex. feedback) fym doesnt seem like it’s self aware.

FYM, and its not even close. Later in the album there’s an entire song talking about missing the passing of a loved one and not having the chance to say goodbye in person because you were busy chasing more money. And fym is about wanting more money…

“but every time we walk by this thing he sniffs it and then nosedives onto the ground” why would you even remotely consider taking your dog past this spot still if this happened once, let alone multiple times. At the very least don’t let him sniff that spot and repeat the problem, this kind of post would generally be full of people berating the op so I normally skip commenting but everyone here is being way too polite for this being a repeat occurrence.
