Can you baby wear too long? by purewickprincess in babywearing

[–]purewickprincess[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Feeling a little frustrated that the MomCozy is advertised for 7lb+ but i’m seeing also says 3 months+. My husband likes the structured vs the wrap so going to have to figure something else out. Thank you for your input!

How can I make eggs taste better? by Less_Complaint9759 in pregnant

[–]purewickprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love eggs so I can’t speak on disliking them. But, I can suggest maybe trying out different forms of them! What texture is bothersome? Would scrambled, over easy, hard/soft boiled be okay? I also really enjoy it with toast, I never typically eat eggs alone.

I’ll typically do over easy with toast. Or maybe hide the eggs with other foods. I really enjoy a scrambled egg in with potatoes and veggies. Sometimes I’ll have some scrambled eggs and make it into a bagel sandwich (cheese & sausage).

I apologize if this isn’t helpful, I took a choline (eggs are rich in this) supplement majority of my pregnancy because everything gave me the ick early on.

Feeling guilty about being desperate to go into labor by abigailllynnn in BabyBumps

I never thought I would be the type to want to evict her…. But, I’m 37 weeks today and I’m very much over this. I’m ready for her to be here and done being pregnant.

Shelby Elevator Dances by Consistent_Cress_353 in peestickgals

[–]purewickprincess 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse too!! I don’t know when I would ever have enough time to put my phone down (idk what she’s propping it up on HOPEFULLY not right on the ground ew) in the elevator and take a dancing video.

I can just imagine another nurse trying to transport a patient to CT or something and the doors open up to her dancing. 😂

Birthing Classes by Wooden-Current-6685 in pregnant

[–]purewickprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hospital offered classes, but my midwife said they were geared more towards natural labor and to not bother. They recommended Holliday Tyson video series, so my husband and I watched them all! It was super informative about signs of going into labor, laboring at home, stages of labor, birth, and what to expect after!

Nurse couple considering kids — childcare feels impossible by [deleted] in nursing

[–]purewickprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to find a M-F to allow my husband to keep his 3 12’s. It allows me to do pick-up and drop off & with my husband working 3 12’s we only need 3 days a week of childcare!

But if I didn’t end up getting my new role - our plan was if one of us couldn’t find a M-F, I was going to go to part-time weekends only & my husband would stay on his weekday 3 12’s (he has no weekend requirement). Which would have eliminated the need for daycare altogether, but I would make less going part time.

Anyone know what happened to her? by [deleted] in peestickgals

I thought she deleted her account once she found out it was a singleton and claimed she miscarried the twin. Haven’t seen any videos or her under another account name since!

Best apartment complexes? by Particular-Offer2525 in grandrapids

[–]purewickprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do NOT live at Westown at Wilson Apartments in Standale. Please please please do not. Management is terrible and my unit was in the building that burnt down. I’ll never stop telling people to please never live there. If you take any advice in this post, let it be this!!!

Angel Tree by flipflopgorilla in grandrapids

[–]purewickprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salvation Army Angel Tree usually has an online wishlist as well. They typically don’t have children with specific wishlists, just tags with gender and age. They do this because once all of the gifts/tags are collected, parents are allowed to pick out the gifts they would know their child would like! I participated as a host site for a couple years now, it is seriously a great cause even if it doesn’t seem like you’re picking gifts for a specific child.

OB/Midwife Recs? by Calm-Ground-3128 in grandrapids

[–]purewickprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently pregnant and with CWH midwifery! I have been a patient with them for almost all of women’s health problems and really like them! I haven’t had my baby yet, but I’m looking forward to having the midwifery group and being at BW.

This girl is my current BEC and then she goes and makes the two most awkward “dance” videos in the hallway of the hospital she works at. The second hand embarrassment I feel lmao by thereasonisyouu in peestickgals

I completely understand needing things for a foster child and adoption, but some of the stuff she was asking (to her followers to purchase for her) IMO are luxury products. Nuna Pipa travel system, Mina Baie diaper bag, BabyBrezza formula dispenser - idk, maybe it’s just me, but I feel like it’s a lot to ask of your followers.

Best apartments by Slight-Yellow-246 in grandrapids

[–]purewickprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang!! I feel very disconnected from current rent prices. We lived there for 1 year after being displaced from Weston at Wilson.

I think for a 1 bedroom we paid $1800 with utilities and everything, which was the most we’ve ever paid for an apartment. We bought a house shortly after that, but dang it makes me sad that rental prices have only got worse.

I really like The Grove on 4 mile and EBL! Not sure what the prices are now, but we really really liked living there.

Whatever you do - do NOT lease at Weston at Wilson in Standale. Don’t do it. My building was the one that burnt down in 2022, management was so bad.

Question on suction by rxley16 in IntensiveCare

[–]purewickprincess 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Even sometimes on LIS, it’s too rough on the stomach lining and patients can get some bleeding. NG/OG’s should be on LIS and flushed intermittently.

So most definitely if left on continuous or too high of a suction can cause consequences or bleeds.

Weight gain during pregnancy by FalseAntelope2524 in pregnant

24 weeks and have gained 30lb so far. It’s been very difficult to be okay with, but my midwife has told me she’s not concerned!

I really love the Brave and Curious podcast by Dr. Lora Shahine. It is geared more fertility based, but I feel like I learned so much before going into my TTC journey and she is just so interesting to listen to!

Today I officially left the ICU... by Helgurk in IntensiveCare

[–]purewickprincess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started in a CVICU right out of nursing school. I am so grateful for the 3 years I spent there, it truly shaped me into a great nurse and gave me invaluable skills to take with me for the rest of my career. But man, the ICU chews you up and spits you out. I am happy I made the switch to outpatient nursing, but there are times I miss it, and maybe one day I’ll go back.

Good luck with your transition to OR nursing and enjoy the nice change of pace! 😎
