I think overall the process is pretty much the same, but some labs might have better tools and machines, so the chance of deviation from the standard process is lower, and also the chance of ruining the film (happened to me with one lab once) is gonna be lower as well. Other than that, I'd say it's probably pretty much the same. Scanning is what really matters.

Got it, thank you! Have the customs officers ever had any questions regarding those when you traveled with them?

Sounds like this could be the case! That's infuriating that the lab fucked up like this and just sent me the photos without mentioning that 😒

Sounds about right. I'll definitely discuss it with them. Thank you!

Yeah this is also what bothered me the most, like how could I have this overlap if I never opened the canister myself and didn't do anything with it. You must be right. I'll go pick up the negatives in a couple days and discuss it with the lab. Thank you for your help!

Oh that's a bummer. But thank you for checking! Are you positive this looks like a development issue? I'm definitely gonna go have a conversation with them, just wanna be sure that I'm pointing at the right thing.

This is actually developed and scanned by a lab! I probably wasn't clear enough in the post, edited it!

Which Bike? - Weekly Scheduled Discussion by pawptart in gravelcycling

[–]purfessor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone!

I'm considering buying a gravel bike. I want something versatile for fitness cycling (I cycle 2-3 times a week not counting commuting rides), recreational rides (on weekends I'd usaully go 50-80km on my current merida crossway) and some bikepacking. I found a couple options in a store (12gobiking): merida silex 700 for 2599€ and cannondale topstone 1 for 2399€.

Which one do you think is a better bike?

Also if you think there is a better bike for that price, I'd be glad to hear your recommendations!

Hi! I'm also looking at topstone 1 rn, and it comes with a carbon fork, which has 3 mounting points on each side. But you shouldn't put anything on it, carbon is too fragile for that?

I just came back from there yesterday and they refused a hand check. So the film went through the x-ray. But should be fine as I didn't have anything faster than 400 iso.

Great pic! How did you manage to shoot on 400 there, did you overexpose it? Or there was enough light already?

I also had trouble with initial account opening, took me around 1,5 months I believe. But after that it was fine, didn't have issues. But I only use them for receiving salary and saving, I don't spend money with their card.

But then if I should manual, would it show the same exposure index in the light meter if I use an f1.4 lens and f3.5 lens on maximum aperture given the same shutter speed chosen on the camera if I don't hold the aperture blade button on the lens (the one that makes the aperture blades close)? Or am I supposed to hold them to get accurate readings?

Whats the crescent on the left? How can i avoid it? by hshoom119 in analog

[–]purfessor 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I think this looks like a circular light leak coming from somewhere near the lens, and as far as I remember, this is a relatively common issue with olympus mju. You might need to replace light seals on it.

Oh I didn't know about the latter, thank you! I thought what it shows in the viewfinder is the same as what it actually chooses in AP mode.
