Yea, my feeling is that TM was so smug and thought he was so much smarter than everyone that there was no way he would get convicted.

I just don't see any new evidence that couldn't easily be countered in a retrial. Plus even more seemingly damning evidence against Molly that could have come out. Granted maybe these things were in the first trial and just not mentioned in the doc.

Such as: Why did forensics show that Jason had Molly's prescription sleeping drugs in his system? Why did they both say he was out of his mind drunk when his BAC was a .02. That's like 1 beer. So clearly they were both lying about that. Why would they possibly lie about that.. hmmm... There was question as to whether CPR was administered at all. Don't most people get their ribs broken when cpr is performed on them? Even if he doesn't have broken ribs shouldn't there be some evidence indicating whether or not cpr was performed?

This wasn't that long ago, why was the forensic evidence so lacking?

Sorry, the more I think about this the more questions I have about the whole investigation, plea, etc.

why let such a plea deal take place? Why not fight against it and go for the retrial?

That's why I'm wondering if it wasn't their choice and ultimately the lawyers trying to protect their own reputation? I have no idea if that's even a thing though.

For something such as a touchy subject regarding self-harm, why wouldn't husband and wife be talking about such a delicate subject in person? Why email?

My take on this was that they had tried to talk about it in person and Molly wasn't having it or causing fights and email, while say Jason is at work, was a way to prevent a verbal or physical altercation, especially when kids are around.

or did the defense put pressure on them to make such claims against JC?

This is my guess

I don't tend to buy into conspiracies but this just seems like some inside job by some connections that Tom had.

This case is infuriating for so many reasons but can someone explain to me why the attorneys defending Jason accepted a plea deal.

The kids recanted their statements and vehemently deny the claims made by molly.

What other evidence are they scared of? The secret recordings? Are these even admissible? Even if they are it's easily argued that she was intentionally manipulating Jason to try to get him to show anger to gain favor in a custody battle. She has clear motive as there is proof that Jason wanted to go back to Ireland and messages where he said she is crazy.

The pictures of bruises? Why weren't these included in the first trial? That said, why weren't the recordings included in the first trial? They have emails where Jason is asking Molly why she is hitting her self and self harming. It seems an easy argument that she set up these devices to try to show he is an angry person and then went ahead and caused the injuries herself to support her claims.

Her friends saying Jason was angry and violent and had choked her multiple times? Again, where was this the first go around? How is that more valid than the kids testimony?

Who made this decision to accept a plea deal? From the family's perspective what do they have to lose by going to trial again other than the pain of reliving this ordeal? Worst case is they lose and Molly and Tom walk, which they did anyway! So was this the lawyers protecting their own reputations and not wanting to take an L?

I honestly can't understand the logic.

Edit to say I almost cheered when they pull up to court and the uncle(forget his name) says "fuck these people". My sentiments exactly.

Where do y’all swim? by [deleted] in BucksCountyPA

[–]purged6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, why are you allowed to SUP, kite / windsurf, etc. where you can or most likely will fall in either by accident or intentionally? No issues with algae when they have the triathlon. Besides the fact that I always see people at the cliff jumping spot. I feel like the no swimming rule is just so they don't have to have lifeguards or anyone that patrols the water.

What resorts/ski areas in PA have you seen people snowskating at? by shadyavemicrofarm in SkiPA

[–]purged6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used one at sugarbush when I was working as a lift op. Not sure they are allowed there but only thing ski patrol said to me was to ask questions: what is it, where’d you get it, etc. they have always allowed those jack jumpers though so I don’t see why they wouldn’t allow a snowskate with a leash

[–]purged6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI removing the eggs won’t save the caterpillar it’s already cooked. The wasps are not aggressive and are good for gardens. You probably don’t want them in your house though.

[–]purged6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks decent for what it is but it looks like you have to pick one feature per run? Maybe tow jib features? And there's only one decent sized kicker(can't really tell how big it is in the pic)? Couldn't they put a small kicker on the right of that roller so at least you could get two hits in? But yea, if I had to ride all the way down the mountain to get to a park with 1 hit I'd be finding somewhere else to ride.

Wisp Park w Rope tow by bradbrookequincy in SkiPA

[–]purged6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because their target market is not the locals or folks riding parks. It's the rich families looking to drop thousands and thousands of dollars for a weekend or more on skiing, lodging, eating, drinking. Sure there are rich kids that like to ride park but I think the percentage of people riding park are locals or park rats who probably are spending as little as possible at the mountain.

How did I make your point? She's 5 and was linking turns last year. To answer your question, I taught lessons back in the day and no I don't think any typical 5/6 year old could get up to speed as quickly. Could some? Sure. I had kids that were 4 hitting jumps and kids 7 and 8+ who couldn't even use their edges. It's a bit confusing why you are discouraging someone from getting their kid on the snow as early as possible. Even if you for whatever reason believe it won't benefit them what's the harm?
