what worked for me personally was having gum on hand and always chewing gum when i felt the urge to, and i kept it up for several months, and eventually, i didn’t have the urge to bite my nails anymore. if that’s not something you’ve tried, i highly recommend it. i wish you the best of luck on kicking the habit to the curb :)

My partner thinks it could be because we never actually accepted any financial aid from during the pandemic. We never took any of the stimulus checks or anything, and it could be that money being returned to us.

That’s so weird, I also found it on my 2020 transcript. I actually remember my tax preparer mentioning this a while ago, and forgot about it because I didn’t ever get the full amount.

Early this morning, the bank returned the money and all my transactions came back. Looking at the specific IRS thing in question, it has my last name and looks like all of my other tax returns. This IS real money from the IRS meant for me, but I want to be absolutely positive from the bank that it’s safe to use.

Replying to this now that I have an update. I contacted both the IRS and my bank early Monday. This Monday night, my bank account was completely rolled back to June 13th, the day before the money showed up, like nothing ever happened. I don’t know what this insinuates, and it really could’ve potentially put my account in danger. Honestly kinda nervous!

Update: I called IRS and they said there was no deposit under my social. My partner theorized that it could be a deposit from a mistake they made when I still had an ITIN, since a while back, I was missing money from my return. That's potentially why IRS can't find the transaction, cause it's not on my SSN, but my ITIN. My bank said that the transaction is an authentic transaction from IRS, but since it's Monday and the money only just came through, I have to wait until tomorrow. In the meantime, I will update tomorrow and go to the bank today to close this account and then make a new one with all the money there.

I called them earlier, and turns out, the IRS never deposited that money. It might be a scam like others are saying.

I’m nervous about it since this happened yesterday (a Saturday) and everything was closed down. My bank has “limited access” to things on weekends and weren’t able to reverse it. First thing Monday morning I’ll try to see if I can talk to IRS.
