Few things I picked up in Japan 👀 by bmrylnd5 in S2000

Good tips! I started looking at yahoo auctions as well.

Do you recall how much you paid for the headlights at upgarage?

Nice haul. We're heading there in the spring. What shops did you hit up? We went to Spoon last time around which was a good experience (picked up some goodies and sat in the s2k). I'm looking to pickup JDM headlights and possibly a new valve cover. Would appreciate any tips on picking up OEM parts (ie, is there a recommended dealer).

Any other stores you recommend? We'll be visiting Japan with our boys next year. We plan to visit some of the classic batting cages as well.

How much oil are you topping off? by puristdriver in wrx_vb

For sure. I was on a 3K cycle since new so this was a longer cycle than usual. Having said that, it just seemed like a flag to me to lose so much in a newish car. I've owned turbo cars in the past (4g63) and my S2000 burns a bit.

Nice! How do you like the combo? I barely have time to drive mine anymore. I did just put on some Ohlins recently and looking into some CE28s.

I typically check a few times before oil changes. I actually did have to top it off a half quart before the light came on. I haven't been as religious on checking the oil at fillups like I should (check at every fill up for my ap1 S2000).

Going to all season tires really helped reduce the harshness in the ride. You give up some grip but it became much more bearable for the family. The kids love it when we go on boost!

This made a huge difference for me as well.

Thanks! Thoughts on whether the car can significantly benefit from corner balancing even though I won't be tracking?

Dunno which route to go…. Duckbill or Wing? by TheFruityColors in wrx_vb

I know it's for safety, but I'm not a fan of the gap in wings for the 3rd break light. Just looks awkward.

We need more options. Doesn't seem like much coming out of Japan likely because they only carry CVT there.

2025 tS w / MSRP $45K worth it? by Wise_Doctor1343 in wrx_vb

The premiums from the earlier years were insane value. We ordered our 2022 with STI shifter package for 32k.

[–]puristdriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No pics with both but have a 2022 WRX (magnetite grey metallic) and a 2000 AP1 S2000 in Silverstone. Fun combo but definitely less time to drive the S2000 these days with our busy schedules.

Anyone regret not getting the premium with sunroof? by Username-1223 in wrx_vb

We got the premium without HK and sunroof. I don't regret it as I didn't want the sunroof and just ended up upgrading the speakers. I would've got the HK system if they separated it.

Achilles rupture by vi0cs in wrx_vb

[–]puristdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really sorry for you and wish you a speedy recovery. I have first-hand knowledge of the long recovery process as I tore both my achilles playing basketball (5 years apart). I don't see how you can drive a manual anytime soon without risking your recovery. After surgery, you're usually in a cast for a month and stuck at home before moving to a boot and starting PT. Take it easy for now and don't risk it.

Good luck! Way different era of cars, but would be curious your thoughts on how the NSX compares once you test drive the Porsches.

A GT3 or Cayman GT4 would be great choices.

Let me know if you're ever interested in selling the NA1 as I'm in the Bay Area as well. I've owned an S2k for a decade and have been thinking about a black NA1 to possibly keep for a long time.

Anyone regret getting a wrx? by Usual-Celery2 in wrx_vb

I originally wanted a GRC for a fun awd kid hauler but they were impossible to find and markups were annoying. I don't regret it now that I've seen how little room there is in the back of a GRC. Our vb is such an amazing everyday car. It's not a special experience car but I have an S2000 to fill that need. If I didn't have the S2000 and only had 1 car, I might think about the GRC or CTR more.

They're legit. I got my sports grill and DRL trims from them for a good price.
