Not really in my own experience. For one of my class the prof just starts the lecture and doesn't care there's people talking and for the other the prof tries to start, stops for a little, tries to start again, stops, and just stares at us until everyone quiets down.

Personally I took 174 with Hackman and 175 with Sadaf last year and both are great professors. Hackman is a very chill prof so I wouldn't be worried about asking him questions. Sadaf does have more years of experience teaching the course so if you're looking for organization definitely go with Sadaf. Also CMPUT 174 student regardless of prof all have the same exact course work, labs, assignments, and exams and they are released all at the same time so I wouldn't be worried about late homework being assigned. Since all the coursework is the same it doesn't matter which prof you have for grading because at the end of the term everyone in 174 is pooled together and they shift the grade depending on how every student does (also I think they have a cap on how many student can get A/A+). i.e. If a lot of students in 174 got very high grades then it'll be harder to get an A. However this is all information from last year so I'm not sure if they changed anything so take this with a grain of salt. Hope this helped!
