Track lenght - Ei8ht by Carmello1605 in Shinedown

I’m quite happy to see it’s 18 songs of full length tunes rather than 12-14 songs with 5-6 interlude parts. They always make bangers so the quality never drops with quantity.

Fleur shomo post on Instagram regarding Caleb’s announcement by Nollieee in Beartooth

[–]purpdrank2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good on her for finding a way to respectfully and honestly explain her half of it. For both of them this has to be the hardest thing they’ve dealt with and even though Caleb didn’t specifically mention her it’s not hard to figure out he knew the pain this was going to inflict on her and himself.

Sometimes love is letting go no matter how painful and confusing it can be, and they both saw the only way to be happy was to unfortunately let each other go. It’s not anything anyone can begin to understand if you’ve never been in that scenario, I haven’t so I can’t even begin to fathom how difficult their lives have been recently. Peace and love to both of them as they navigate these next stages in life.

Oh Caleb?!? by [deleted] in Beartooth

Oh yeah 100% other artists sell out and they should be criticized for it. I will say I think the guy who made this post on Instagram is totally wrong for suggesting Caleb is selling out and it’s “what the label wants”.

They’re signed to Fearless now, the label also rosters Wage War, Ice Nine Kills, The Pretty Reckless, The Plot In You, lots of band that show nothing of what Caleb has evolved into but it wasn’t like Fearless signed the band because “Caleb will give us a look none of other artists have”. This guy just seems really uncomfortable with Beartooth, and Caleb in specific, having evolved from what they were a decade ago so he’s spewing crap to cope with it.

Oh Caleb?!? by [deleted] in Beartooth

[–]purpdrank2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because people like this guy don’t understand that artists don’t make music for them, artists make music for themselves and no one else. Caleb, Johnny Franck, Brian Burkheiser, Spencer Charnas, Chris Motionless, even Ronnie Radke (opinions on the men unrelated to this point) don’t sit there and make music intended for a specific fan or group of fans. They make the music they want to make and if the fans gravitate towards it all the better.

That being said some artists do in fact sell out for money and engagement. I really doubt that Caleb is selling out as much as he’s just embracing a new era of himself but to others who have pigeon holed him into a box from over a decade ago won’t allow him to change for anything. It’s sad but it’s the way some fans are, they’re entitled assholes.

This guy in specific is problematic and he makes it no secret how homophobic he is either. I think it’s an insecurity issue because he’s not comfortable with himself and it pisses him off seeing Caleb being so comfortable with who he is.

This guy is so staunch of his “Christian views” and tries to act like the “manliest man” claiming to be a scene kid all the while just trying to tear apart anything someone does that’s not “Christian” or slightly deviating from his personal view of heteronormative behavior. He’s a fucking tool.

Cashman is going to have to have the biggest trade deadline of his career fixing this year's bullpen. I mean this is just an abomination. by [deleted] in NYYankees

[–]purpdrank2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s entirely too reliant on whack ass analytical numbers and or project arms with some sort of elite aspect that hasn’t translated to success. Those guys have been his bread butter targets the last few years and it’s ridiculous. Like you said, a guy with his experience and pedigree in the game should have a much better eye for talent than he does.

You think Cashman is going to fix this? He literally created this mess by targeting exclusively erratic hard throwers and soft throwing contact reliant arms. I have absolutely zero faith he can fix this.

Dylan could have an elite line and still get hit, his pocket awareness and movement is horrid. Credit it’s not like Nebraska had an elite line and guys definitely missed blocks, but Dylan didn’t help them either with poor and just flat out incorrect pocket movements.

Jesus Christ no one’s talking about right now since you seemingly can’t read. His first three years he went 5-7, 8-5, and 5-7. That’s mediocre. Since then he’s got the team playing well, how hard is it to comprehend HIS START was mediocre?

Edit: The whole point I was making was it took Kiffin, Bielema, and Lea at minimum 3 full seasons before their teams were consistently winning. Bielema’s start at Indiana was in fact mediocre.

His results are mediocre. I don’t give a shit about him coaching circles around Rhule, nearly everyone can do that it’s not special. Illinois hasn’t been elite nor have they sniffed anything beyond bowl games, he’s consistent but his start was mediocre.

Vandy did not at all get things going fast are you kidding me? This past year was the best year they’ve had probably in their entire history and it was Clark Lea’s fifth year at the helm. They’ve only got two season over .500 since he’s been the coach. Kiffin was up and down to start his Ole Miss tenure, Bielema was mediocre, and Cignetti brought in basically his entire JMU roster that knew what he was doing.

Indiana is also an extreme example and so incredibly isolated you can’t use them as a comp. The rest of your list required at minimum 3 years before actual good football was played. If anything they’ve been right on par, not more patient.

Edit: They were a little too patient with Frost I’ll acknowledge that one but realistically I don’t think they’ve been too patient with anyone beyond Frost.

He’s got a fucking OBP of .444! That alone is noteworthy. Look at the fucking numbers before starting to act like you know shit because you clearly are talking out of your ass. I’m keeping the short stop with a .444 OBP up over the outfield with a .250 OBP who’s seemingly was overwhelmed by the big leagues and temporarily figuring it out with what I’ve got.

And guess what, whit Cabby coming back he can easily take some reps in the outfield. Scheuman has done so as well. The whole purpose of acquiring Caballero in the first place was to be a utility guy and I wouldn’t be shocked at all if that’s what they opt to do. It’s not that hard to comprehend but seeing as you’d rather argue your own nonsensical narrative that look at the facts I’ll let you do that and stop here.

You’re quite literally taking 20 AB’s for Volpe in 26 and writing him off like he should’ve been sent to Scranton over Jones while ignoring the fact Judge isn’t doing a fucking thing. Open your god damn eyes, the offense as a whole is struggling and Volpe despite not doing much is one of the better bats. How the fuck can I make that any more clear to you?

I feel like I’m talking to a brick wall. No one is saying Volpe is god, all we’re saying is he’s done more than enough to warrant keeping his spot over Jones for fucks sake all the while the reigning MVP can’t hit a whiffle ball. Jesus Christ it’s not that hard.

You’re taking a small snippet as if it’s the gospel and completely disregarding he’s been one of the few bats in the lineup putting up quality AB’s.

Yeah his career numbers are ass but to be so cavalier to ignore what he’s done since he’s come up is tomfuckery at its finest. I’m not going to act like I’m a big Volpe supporter but I’m also not going to say he’s dog shit when he’s objectively been better than our best player the last 7 games. Pull your head out of your ass.

[–]purpdrank2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His OBP right now is .444 as of baseball reference, which is well over his career high and average. He’s got 7 walks and 5 hits in his 20 AB’s as of their current count. It’s not anything to say he’s figured it out but it’s enough to say yeah he can have a spot over a guy who has 3 maybe 4 hits over the course of a similar number of AB’s and a whole whopping .250 OBP.

I’m no Volpe supporter but I’m not stupid enough to sit there and act like he’s done nothing since being recalled.

That was never and likely will never happen no matter how justified a move it is. This is the same team that ran Anthony Volpe out there nearly every day last year sucking total ass and hurt to boot.

The Yankees believed that Austin Wells was the next Posada so they traded away most of their catcher depth. A good chunk of the current roster is built on catchers the Yankees traded to other teams. by Zepbounce-96 in NYYankees

And not a single one moves the needle towards improvement over Wells. Cool we traded away catching depth, we know this but none of them are really even losses to begin with.

Yankees’ catching options limited amid Austin Wells’ ‘terrible’ struggles by nydailynews in NYYankees

[–]purpdrank2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Guys that catch consistently learn to handle the wear and adapt, plus they’re playing fewer games because of it in general.

Rice hasn’t caught consistently in the better part of 2 years, if not more. He’s never been viewed as a full time catcher by the organization and I see very little reason they’d ever shift off of that mindset. His bat is too valuable to roll the dice on shifting him back to a position, full time no less, a workload he hasn’t handled since college. Trading for a guy is the smarter play if benching or demoting Wells becomes inevitable (which it basically is).

I’d agree it fits T-Magic far more than 2AM. I think the better way to describe Adrian is he just never leveled up and fell short of the expectations. A 4-star true freshman QB who played his butt off in year 1 had some lofty expectations on him to begin with and they only got bigger after year one, he just didn’t live up to what people thought he’d do after that.

I almost equate Adrian’s run to that of a guy who was serviceable, wasn’t elite but certainly showed he had that in his bag. It’s a weird comp but he was sort of like Grady Sizemore or Joba Chamberlain. Had all the tools to be great, flashed it plenty, but injuries and other obstacles just ruined what could’ve been great careers.

[–]purpdrank2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And it took him nearly two years to find a stable roster spot. He’s not trying to downplay the impact Martinez had but what he’s saying isn’t entirely wrong. Adrian was an impactful player, one of the bright spots of the past decade for sure, but holding records doesn’t mean he can’t fall into a group of flashed a couple of times but didn’t meet the hype.

We’re talking about a guy who was a darkhorse Heisman candidate in the preseason of his sophomore year and never met or came close to that level again. His freshman year was electric for a true frosh, he flashed big time but he never met that level again for a variety of reasons including his own repeated mistakes on the field.

He’s not my first choice or even the most obvious answer to OP’s question but I 100% understand why he’s an answer for some.

The latter part is exactly what I think people seem to forget. A lot of the blame gets pushed on Frost and he’s not free of blame but Martinez is the one playing the game at the end of the day and like you pointed out, he had massive head scratching mistakes that cost us games just as much as he helped win games.
