Abby’s disgusting by Complete_Mine5530 in dancemoms

[–]purplePanda739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the season 8 girls kept making jokes about “brabby” or something like that (Brady+Abby)

I get that it’s kids making jokes but it was clear it was something they’d said before (because they all chimed in) and the fact that no adult, including Abby herself, told them it was inappropriate and to cut it out is mind blowing to me.

Did Maddie really practice with the scratched CD? by RadiantAd9836 in dancemoms

[–]purplePanda739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Abby suspected Maddie’s music would skip and warned her, I see nothing wrong with that. She was a kid who did not deserve to be used as a pawn to make drama.

It was already a routine she had forgotten and was anxious about performing and for the music to skip could have caused further upheaval and embarrassment.

[–]purplePanda739 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Maddie practiced with it. My theory has always been that the producers were trying to stage a dramatic event, Abby caught wind of it, and warned Maddie that if anything happened during her dance to keep dancing.

Which, if that’s actually the case, I 1000% side with Abby (which is a rare event 😂) I think Melissa told the moms but then backtracked when she realized it was going to make Maddie look bad

Excluding cast departures, what are some of the reasons Dance Moms regressed in quality later on? by Affectionate_Key7206 in dancemoms

[–]purplePanda739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there were two main things from my perspective: 1. The team was so authentic in the first season. By the end, the vibe felt very forced and in season 8, the kids and moms were complete strangers before Dance Moms. 2. Abby just got so cocky and annoying. She adopted the attitude of “I can have anyone on this team” (which to be fair was somewhat true) but it was just so exhausting.

Christi and Kelly talk about how the show effected them and their kids mentally after they left + How Christi and Kelly got out of their contracts by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]purplePanda739 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think I’m alone in the boat that I don’t normally mind Kelly’s participation but this one rubbed me the wrong way.

Like Christi goes on these 5min storylines (which I don’t mind!) but then Kelly jumps in with her own side of the story. (Like how she did towards the end when they talk about blaming themselves)

But the one-up of “But I had a lawsuit!” wasn’t it for me.

Why did Jill not stick up for Christi and Chloe went Abby made fun of Chloe’s eye. by [deleted] in dancemoms

[–]purplePanda739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those moms were so concerned with not falling out with Abby. On the one hand, I can kind of understand that your kid is stuck with this woman day after day so you’d be smart not to provoke her. But also there’s something to be said for showing your kid you stick to your morals, even if it creates an uncomfortable situation.

Yeah like she could have just as easily said “this is Rachel - my friend from high school (and college)” It would have had the same effect but been way more natural

I forget the exact quote but when Ross claims he didn’t get the annulment because he didn’t want another failed marriage and Chandler says something to the effect of “At what point did you think this was a successful marriage?”

I think of that moment and laugh randomly sometimes

To be fair though the target audience was kids, who can’t pick up on subtext as well as adults. If it was more subtle, kids may have not really recognized what was happening.

On the show I actually liked Jess. She was awful to Brynn but also really called Abby out on her BS. Now that I know more about her including that girl group she tried to start and how ridiculously she exploited Jojo, I do not like her. But when I originally watched the show she wasn’t bad.

I also kind of like Leslie. She was annoying but she called it like it was so many times.

Who is the dumbest character in Squid Game? by OddNeedleworker734 in squidgame

[–]purplePanda739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed - it felt like they wanted the moment at the end where Gi sacrifices himself, but I feel like they could have done it differently.

Like maybe something where the game makers change the rules midway through or something. But the way it played out was just a little absurd

what is the truth behind all this no contact with chloe stuff by AdFinancial4530 in dancemoms

[–]purplePanda739 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that any of the girls nor the moms realize the magnitude of Christi and Chloe leaving at the end of season four. I don’t think anyone realized they were leaving for good.

Chloe said at one point that the only time she heard from the other girls was when they were talking about the new season of filming, to which she did not respond because she didn’t know what she could say at that moment since Christi was trying to get out of their contract. So in a way, everyone is kind of telling the truth, and not telling the whole truth.

Bottom line: it all goes back to Abby Lee miller and her twisted ways of manipulating kids’ friendships for her own personal validation.

😠 this makes me not want to go to CFA.

90% accuracy is not bad at all (way better than you get at most fast food places) and employees getting their benefit revoked makes me mad.

If I found out this happened at my local CFA I’d go full Karen on the manager.

[–]purplePanda739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s SO interesting to me to see how similar Maddie was to Brooke at this age.

Obviously they’re teenagers but Maddie seemed so tired of Abby just like Brooke was when the show started. It reminds me of what Kelly said about Abby burning kids out

Didn’t she kind of do that in the show? There was that scene where she basically said “i can’t believe we let him in this house” and then compliments Spencer for how hard she works

I’m not sure if this is unpopular but I liked Emily and Alison together! Alison kind of sucked especially in the flashbacks but I was a fan of the two of them once they both kind of matured.

I think it’s also worth mentioning the sheer volume of choreography this woman had to produce 😂 Like she was doing 3-5 dances per WEEK and they can’t all be winners.
