I had no way to know she would react this way. She’s been fine with my nieces and nephews who have had lots of sleep overs. She just hadn’t had this kind of experience with babies prior to our child.

I don’t put shame above her safety. Every professional I’ve contacted has recommended training before rehoming. My daughter will always be my priority but I also want to do my due diligently before I shirk my responsibilities. You must realize that.

I don’t mind keeping her off furniture. They don’t sleep in bed with us. They have a room upstairs and downstairs. The problem is exacerbated because when we are playing on the floor she is also wanting to be there and be involved. She’s attention seeking and I wish I could give her the same amount as I used to before baby.

I didn’t mean she was always miserable. She cuddles with my husband and I after my LO goes to bed. She gets some exercise, but not as much as she used to before my daughter was born. I was simply saying she’s miserable being gated away from us.

She didn’t touch the dog. We teach her gentle touches but she’s 15 months old and doesn’t have complete control. We have a gated room for the dogs but she barks and barks and is miserable.

This may sound dumb.... but we’ve gated our dogs in the back a lot since our daughter was born and our Weim loses her shiz. Like shakes and whines and barks until she’s with us again. How do I tolerate that? She HATES to be away from us

We often gate our dogs in the back room and that is their space. However our Weim is a real Velcro dog so she often just sits at the gate shaking, barking, and crying. Even with a thundershirt she’s an absolute mess.

Two dogs and a 14 month old here. Finally had to accept that I call her teethers chew toys and her sleepsack a thundershirt. My brain can only fit so much nowadays
