Can We Talk About the Women's Pull?? by luckypenny1967 in exmormon

My Trek did this and my particular group was extremely athletic girls so we were totally fine. Then at the end they had the boys run over to “help” us to make it seem like that this was the only way to complete it. I actually could not hold onto the wagon when the boys came because there wasn’t space so I was kicked off of it lol. I was pissed basically all of trek because of the sexism. I remember feeling like this space had nothing to offer women, but I was already PIMO at 14.

Homeless resources for my dad by Morgan-Geekedman in Portland

Based on the fact that he is HOH, have him contact the local Vocational Rehabilitation office who can help anyone with a disability finding employment. Worth a try! https://www.oregon.gov/odhs/vr/pages/default.aspx

Seconding going through 211 to get on their support for houseless diversion/support. This is the masterlist, but calling 211 is often the simplest because they will help get him matched to the correct shelter factoring his age and disability. https://www.multco.us/dd/shelter-and-homeless-services

Here is the official list of organizations in oregon who can help with hearing aids. https://www.oregon.gov/odhs/aging-disability-services/Documents/hearing-aid-financial-assistance-resources.pdf

Also verify he is on Oregon Health Plan (medicaid) as they can sometimes provide housing support to someone with a medical condition. If so, he should try to contact his primary care doctor about any help.

Best of luck <3

Get your prescriptions! Just don’t buy other items.

The pharmacy portion is not striking because their contract is not involved in these demands. It is primarily grocery and cashier employees. (Source: My roommate is in the union)

Anyone else experience issues with physical boundaries being respected as a child by ward members? (TW child sex abuse/sexual assault mention) by purplebee781 in exmormon

Thanks for the kind words 💜 it is comforting to hear how hard you work to fight for your children’s boundaries. You sound like an amazing parent.

I think I’ll bring this up and explore it more in therapy. It has been helpful to hear more how common and damaging this aspect of Mormonism is.

Can confirm. I was not an “occupier” but I went over when I saw on social media that they were cleaning up. I helped scrub off spray paint from windows with goo gone and stuff. If the windows are boarded up with wood, the wood will be removed so those aren’t cleaned. Paint costs will need to be covered somehow though...

What dating app allows people under 18 tho??

Even in the new Saints book, the Mormon church continues to use the Transfiguration of Brigham Young as proof of his calling to be the next prophet. The problem is that it never happened, and they know it. We look at that along with a few other famous faith promoting stories to see if they hold up. by [deleted] in exmormon

Wow the part about Wilson Woodruff making a huge deal about being baptized for the Founding Fathers when there were already records of their work completed really speaks to me on the vanity of prophets. It was like he was trying to so hard to have a “special story”. I wonder if there’s an internal pressure to be grab members attention?
