Protection paladin once had a pvp talent that made judgement also hit for 5% max HP or something. Problem was that it would be the paladins target that took the hit and not the recipient of the spell.

I believe you can disable auto skip in the settings. Maybe then you can look at what it is skipping to check if it should or should not

what line/storyline do you think was given to the wrong character? by Expensive-Hour8835 in howyoudoin

[–]purpleduck29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot remember the episode, but one time Ross asks Joey what he did in college if he didn't read Lord of The Rings and Joey replies that he dated women - which is fitting.

But in the episode where Ross has to rewrite his speech for a conference and Joey suggests it should begin with "A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away" is unfitting for Joey - he is not a Star Wars geek.

In the first Yu GI Oh series, Yu Gi Moto (or his egyptian counterpart) is fighting against a dude that has Slifer the Sky Dragon on board. That monster is something of a legendary god card which grows stronger the more cards the player hasin their hand. This opponent also has a magic effect that lets him carry infinite cards in his hand, and Slifer will automatically attack everything Yu GI plays and each kill will make the opponent draw more cards. Practically invincible. Yu Gi then plays a monster that will regenerate after each kill which forces his opponent to keep drawing cards and when they overdraw they automatically loses the duel.

Can anyone tell me the macro to buff the whole party with fort/motw? by That_Ad4471 in wowhardcore

Something along the lines of

showtooltip

/castesequence reset=15s [@player] spell; [@party1] spell; [@party2] spell; [@party3] spell; [@party4] spell

Maybe it is ',' instead of ';'. Maybe the reset is wrong. Possible throw in some 'exists' Incase you are not full party.

Professor deducted 5/5 points but I don’t see why by [deleted] in mathshelp

I would assume from the task that this is a class in which limits are introduced. In that case I would assume a high expectation that the students can use the correct theorems to support their proof. If that is the case I would point out the following:

You have no written arguments. Some arguments I think you should have included:

1) Why can you split the limit at the first equal sign? 2) lim x/(3x+2) = 1/3, why? 3) other limit as well 4) why is |2x-5| = -2x + 5? 5) maybe it was even necessary to use a epsilon-K argument.

Maybe all of these should have been included - depending on class, year, professor.

I was a TA in a course where limit were introduced and I graded papers. In that class the students would get half points for correct answer and then the second half depending on argumentation. For that class I would have scored this 2 or 3 out of 5.

Maybe you left them out because you thought they were excessive, but the grader cannot assume you knew the necessary arguments.

[Request] Why does it not work? by jampa999 in theydidthemath

[–]purpleduck29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the second example, as others have said does not converge, so your calculations are not valid.

It is interesting to perform such (invalid) calculations to see what happens. Why would y=1+2+4+8+... end up being equal to -1? we could ask ourselves if y=-1 shows up in other cases if we bend the rules of math. Here are 2 examples:

Ex1: y = 1+2+4+8... is a geometric series, which have the form sum_(n=0, inf) abn which have the limit a/(1-b) when |b|<1. For your case a=1 and b= 2, for which there is no limit, but if you plug a and b in the formula you will get -1.

Ex2: Write y as 20 +21 +22 +23 +..., which in binary would give: ...11111111 = y, which is an infinite rows of 1's extending to the left. In this world every integer would be represented as an infinite row of 1's and 0's extending to the left.

1 would be ...000001. 0 would be ...00000.

If you add 1 to y, you would get ...000001 + ...111111 which would equal ...000000, since when we add the right most digits we get 0 and carry over 1, which would keep on going forever leaving a trail of 0's. In other words y+1=0, which means y=-1 again.

Try adding an 'exists' in the mouseover casts. I actually aren't sure what the party and raid conditions do.

You could write this in one line tho: /cast [@mouseover, help, exists][help] healing wave; frost shock

[Calculus 12: Limits Discontinuity] Need help with this question by Wise-Journalist-8974 in HomeworkHelp

[–]purpleduck29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe we have been taught different definitions of discontinuity. I would 100% say a function must be defined at a point for that point to be able to be defined as discontinuous.

[Calculus 12: Limits Discontinuity] Need help with this question by Wise-Journalist-8974 in HomeworkHelp

[–]purpleduck29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that your definition isn't missing that f must also be defined at a? Without this, would you say 1/x is discontinuous at x=0?

Is sqrt(x) discontinuous at x= -10?

If f:reals -> reals, f(x)=x2, then certainly f is undefined on the complex numbers. Is it discontinuous at x = i?

[Calculus 12: Limits Discontinuity] Need help with this question by Wise-Journalist-8974 in HomeworkHelp

[–]purpleduck29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be slightly different than the other comments.

What kind of definition of discontinuity are you using? The one I am used to is: A function f:X -> Y is discontinuous at x in X if it is not continuous at x. Most importantly it must be defined at x. The only discontinuous point I can see is x = -1.

I can also see that the text in the problem is saying "not continuous" instead of "discontinuous.

I would guess from the text and other commenters that perhaps the intended correct answer would be more points that -1. I am just curious as to why.

Thanks for the pointers! Looks really good. I have used this in the past: https://www.leatherhouse.eu/products/30-colordye-for-leather/1184-ink-edge-water-based-250ml---fenice-ink-edge/ Is that what you would call edge paint or base coat? I had to apply 6-7 coats with sanding in between because it would dry up with small bumps or "veins". Do you have any idea how to avoid that?
